First off, the host was very accommodating in allowing me to check in the same day. I was told they did a walk through and that the unit was clean and ready. First off; there is NO ELEVATOR to the third floor. I guess the ADA has no relevance in SC? After lugging my heavy cooler, etc., up 2 flights of stairs all I want is a hot bath. What actually ends up happening is me cleaning the bathroom tub and floor after finding black hairs EVERYWHERE. The following day I went out and bought a swiffer so I could do the rest of the floors as they were so dirty all my socks were getting ruined. This place needs a deep cleaning badly. Sadly, I did much of it already for free or rather I paid their cleaning fee to THEM and I cleaned THEIR rental property. I almost feel bad saying something cuz I worry that I am more able bodied than they are but it’s not my responsibility to clean a rental property on MY vacation. If my asking for same day check in was the reason they couldn’t provide a clean unit then why make a big deal out of doing a walk through and declaring it clean? Please update the ad to reflect the accessibility issues on the property and please hire a professional cleaner. The view from the balcony was great and I made lots of good meals in an adequately equipped kitchen. 2bd 2 full baths would be perfect for a larger group. I’d love to bring my family next time but sadly the absence of an elevator would be too much for my mother and disabled son. Cheers.
