We stayed on the 21st floor, in a large 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite. One bedroom had a queen bed, the other had two large twin beds (possibly queen) with an en suite bathroom, plus another bathroom outside the rooms. The building is older but well maintained, and our unit was renovated (I booked this option). Check-in was easy and the staff were very nice. The hotel has parking, but it was full during our stay; however, right next door there is an Indigo parking lot at about the same price ($30–35/day). We had a nice stay, but I want to mention a few things: the apartment was not perfectly clean, one towel and the queen bed sheet were stained, and the alarm clock by the queen bed went off at 6 am and two more times until we figured out how to turn it off (likely set by a previous guest). Not a big issue, but maybe a suggestion to check or even remove alarm clocks as they’re not really necessary. The hotel is very well located, close to Byward Market and about 15 minutes from Parliament Hill. Overall, a pleasant stay.

A few positives: - The price for a Friday/Saturday night was reasonable - - The staff was polite and friendly - We appreciated being able to bring our dog - The location is close to the Rideau Centre, like one building in between close, and also about 2 blocks from Byward Market and less than 1 km from Parliament Hill Now, the bad: - The hotel is directly across the street from the homeless shelter. I am talking a guy going through the dumpster when we rolled up - On a Friday night, there are NO staff outside, greeting new arrivals, or managing traffic. Thus, we had a transport truck blocking 3/4 of the width of the driveway. Once we navigated around that, we had an Uber Eats driver fully blocking the driveway. My wife had to go inside and find him and ask him to move so that we could park. After 9 hours of driving with a dog and three kids - Because of the homeless shelter, even the front door needs a key to swipe in and out. Hard when you’re first arriving - The photos of the suite on here are NOT photos of the suites they give out. The suite in the photos is nice. The suite we got is an apartment from the 1980s that stunk like cigarettes. -Both Expedia and the hotel sent emails and texts asking us how check in went. We gave a 1, and got an auto response that the property manager would be in touch. They were NOT. - This hotel is NOT for tall people. The ceilings are 7 feet everywhere you go. - The parking garage is a claustrophobic mess and not for vans
What we got. It was clean. But incredibly stained and dated with uncomfortable furniture and a strong cigarette smell from the vents and the carpet.

Huge rooms!! Great location. Worth every penny

Room size was incredible everything we hoped for as a family that doesn’t like to be falling all over each other. The only dislike to this location was the scent of the room. There was an incredibly strong cleaning agent or dry cleaning agent used. Even with the windows open for a long length of time it wouldn’t go away and permeated our clothing. Everything had to be washed when we came home.

Convenience and comfort near Byward Market

We really enjoyed our stay at Les Suites Ottawa. The 2-bedroom suite worked great for our family, and not only did it include a full kitchen but there was a convenient casual restaurant in the lobby that served breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. The hotel was well located, close to the Byward Market restaurants and shops and an easy walk to the Parliament buildings. Highly recommend!

I have been to a lot of big cities interiors and Ottawa has to be the dirtiest and dangerous places I have ever visited. The only redeeming value is the capitol buildings - that's it!!! The hotel parking was very bad one of the worst I have ever seen. The rooms were good but everything else was bad.
