We truly enjoyed our stay. The pool was perfect and relaxing (though the server was crabby). We had a king suite which was very spacious but the shower was a constant surprise. It would be hot then randomly cold and vise versa. It was very close and convenient to the main part of town with a lot of restaurants and shops near by.

At check in staff provided an extension for front desk if we had questions. Our room didn’t come with a phone. I would prefer if our restroom window had a screen. All sorts of bugs come in without a screen. Shower had spider webs. It took me a bit to understand how to turn on the shower knob. Hot water wasn’t consistent. All staff were professional and friendly. Bed and pillows were super comfortable.

Beds were so comfy. Nathan provided everything we needed from pool towels to extra blankets! Pool was warm, hot tub was fantastic. We stayed in the Alpha Dog room. The only thing lacking is outlets and ISB charging ports.

Caliente Tropics is a unique and affordable place to stay in Palm Springs. Great pool and two bars/restaurants on-site that very good. Staff is always friendly! While the rooms could use some TLC, staying here is always enjoyable!

Positives: Low cost. Lots of thoughtful perk-ups to a 1950's building that otherwise look like it's falling apart. Canaries in the lobby, very pleasant. Nice room. Negatives: No USB port in the room for my phone. The exercise room is closed until 8am so I couldn't work out before I had to leave for my conference. The exercise room's freeweights start at 50lbs and go up; I need 5- 8- 10-lb weights, I've never lifted 50. No elevator, so this 78-year-old guy had to haul suitcases etc up a flight of metal stairs.
