Great location, property could use updating

Stayed here for on a trip with my mother. The photos and price led me to believe this property would be much nicer than it actually was. I can see the charm of maintaining a historical property but some updates were sorely needed. Certainly the 1947 aesthetic could have been kept while still maintaining appearances. The bathroom was tiny with old fixtures and poor workmanship. The walls were paper thin so it was hard to get sleep. I could hear conversations, music and footsteps from the room next door until after midnight. The location is great and walking distance to the main drag which was a plus. Few parking spots offered but also plenty of street parking. Pool area was dirty on the day of arrival, but was nice on the day we actually decided to enjoy it.

I’ve stayed at the Del Marcos a couple of times. Both times were enjoyable and relaxing. It is in an excellent location to the downtown area. The staff were professional and very courteous. The last room I stayed in I noted the room was in need of some maintenance Especially the room exterior space and furniture. But overall I would recommend it. The BAD: No lobby. No people. No ambiance. Insecure entry system (outer doors are almost always open). Worst smallest continental breakfast I've ever seen. No ability to buy anything (drinks/snacks). Room is old. Bathroom has one dim bulb, a sink/faucet falling apart, a fan that sounds like a jet engine, no place to place toilet items or put on makeup, moldy spots. Room has a tiny TV with three coiling messy wires coming from it (not shown in any pictures). A confusing not-simple system of how to watch TV. A tea-like coffee system that creates thin coffee instead of an actual coffee maker (and there's no tea). The GOOD: Clean room. Good aircon mini-split system. Good location if you want to be close to down town.

We stayed to experience a retro style boutique type setting, with mission accomplished. Decor and location fit the bill. Heating and Air Conditioning did not work, not fun on a late night check in. Stains on the floor, with TV and fan unit being WAY out of date and not fitting the retro category of being out of date. Aloha

An architecturally interesting hotel that feels very much of the mid-century period. Great pool area and a location that’s close to a lot. The room was clean and cool, but it could have used a bit of revitalizing. Still, I recommend staying there!
