Best to Look Elsewhere

The room looked much better in the photos. The vinyl wood type flooring was uneven in certain places in the room. The TV operating instructions with two remotes were confusing and did not actually follow how to operate the TV. The bathroom sink had a slow stream of water that you could not stop. The advertised breakfast that was supposed to be out for guests at 7:30 am was not out. We gave up when it still wasn’t out at 8am and searched for a restaurant nearby. When we complained to the office we were told the general manager would contact us, but we never heard from him.

We loved out stay at The Three Fifty Hotel. It is a Mid-century hotel conveniently located just a block from main st and wakable to many delicious restaurants and great shops. The pool was amazing! The place was very clean and well appointed. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is because some of the blinds in our room were broken so the window was not covered all the way to offer full privacy. Otherwise everything was excellent! I definitely recommend this place and will be back.

Unfortunately, we will not be booking at this hotel again. The fact that it’s a part of the Kirkwood group is deceiving. Everything about this property is an after thought. The rooms are dark and sad, they look like cheap flips. There’s no reception at the hotel, only across the street at their well-kept, high-end sister property. The real kicker was when we discovered our toilet had been leaking when we came home from dinner. The desk person, who was nice, came over to try and fix it. She thought she had fixed it but a 1/2 hour later, it was leaking again. At that point it was past 10pm and I was too tired to deal with it. So we stayed the first night in our room with an unusable toilet. The next morning I had to re-explain what had happed to the new morning desk agent. They asked when they could send the maintenance person over but we didn’t want to have to wait for them to fix it and not have use of our room, so I asked if we could just change rooms. They said that was okay but I was surprised that wasn’t something they offered first. We moved rooms, which seemed comparable? It was hard to tell because they both were ugly. They never offered any consolation for the inconvenience. I don’t expect to get a free night (although an inoperable toilet is a pretty big problem) but at the very least a dining credit? Or just the acknowledgment that this is a major blunder. If they want repeat business they should at least pretend like the want to remedy the situation.

Needs work.

Just stayed one night instead of four. Sweet staff but the room was a bit dated. Floor in bathroom not great and after the maid came in we arrived back to find the shower head dripping and floor was flooded. No hot water. They were aware and I’m sure fixed it but we checked out. Not much of a “free breakfast”. The place has potential but it’s not there yet.

The Staff, Especially Dutch at the front desk is the best host in Palm Springs! I highly recommend staying with one of their properties! You’ll enjoy Palm Springs so much more, staying at a 5 star hotel!

Check in at La Serena was easy. Property was clean. The unit was just ok: roomy, bed was comfortable, lighting was dim, bathroom cramped and no counter space. Very convenient and walkable to downtown: that's really what you're paying for. Pool and hot tub, chaises very nice and clean. Staff was excellent.

Depressing, understaffed, worn hotel

We are Palm Springs aficionados and have stayed at the Del Marcos several times over the years, including Christmas. This time around, Del Marcos was price prohibitive so we chose The Three Fifty, which is under the same management and next door to Del Marcos. What we realized is when a corporation takes over, the quality SIGNIFICANTLY deteriorates. We wish the Kirkwood Collection execs would stay in our room, PAY FOR IT, and experience what we experienced: a run-down, overpriced, understaffed hotel. The rooms weren't horrible, but everything was incredibly worn, the plaster was broken, the paint was chipped, the pillows were flat. We told them we wanted our room cleaned, it was not. When we went to get towels that evening, we could tell the sweet boys at the desk were overworked. They had to check-in all three hotels, including Del Marcos. Now we know NOT to stay at Del Marcos - which was priced at $600 a night that week. Since there is no staff at the hotel itself - it just felt abandoned, cheerless and depressing. The empty room that housed the coffee and muffins in the morning was extremely depressing. I didn't even know that was where to go, because there was no sign that said it was the lobby. It house unused desks, and was completely lackluster. The kitchenette was efficient - they gave us utensils, bowls and paper towels which was useful. This is what happens when a corporation takes over, they just don't care. We should have read the other reviews.

There was no heating so my room got very cold overnight. The blinds did not fully close, so anyone walking by could see in and I did not have privacy. There was mold in the bathroom, and the floorboards next to the tub were lifting up from water exposure. The bed moved around a lot and was very noisy, even just turning over in bed. The walls were paper thin and I could hear my neighbors snoring all night and tossing and turning on their noisy beds. I would not stay here again.

Missed the mark on comfort

This property spent money to fluff an old property however some basic were missed in comfort. The shower, bed and pillows are horrible. Next phase, please make sure to improve the property for comfort of the guest, not just to look good. Thanks

Pros: Convenient location in Downtown Palm Springs. Our room was spacious (Deluxe Suite) and the staff was friendly. The pool looked nice with lounge chairs surrounding. Parking included. Cons: Outdated and not well maintained. Parking was easy but no parking pass was provided; didn’t know if they were even checking or not who parked in their spaces. Broken glass bottle found in the fridge when we checked in. Several of the light bulbs in the bathroom were burnt out. Towels were worn out. Bed frame SQUEAKED! Hot tub heater was broken during our stay. Though I had gotten this location on a last minute booking (same day in the area), I would not stay at this property again.
