I DISLIKED absolutely EVERYTHING about this property. It is simply put foul and disgusting! The general cleanliness and maintenance is abhorrent. Staff is non responsive and dismissive when expressing concerns. The linen had stains on it (actually went out and bought my own). The towels were like well-worn gym towels that were extremely abrasive. There are long-term low-income residence at this facility. There were children playing in the the hall and on its filthy floors late into the night. On my last day I cam back to find seven police cars outside the office and found out some residence was behaving erratic and wielding a gun. There were tenants on 2nd floor hanging laundry on balcony railings. I do not smoke but was forced into a smoking room. Walls have stains, mucus and other foreign substance on it throughout. The bathroom looks horrible (toilet was acceptable however small). Expedia clearly allowed the owners to post images of the property back in its heyday. This place should not have a license to operate!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL-Hell. Expedia needs to ban them from listing.

I had to change my room because when I opened the door roaches were everywhere. Lots of people hanging out in front of facility at night. Refrigerator and microwave broken ended up leaving

Pros : Very budget friendly ( Affordable) and the staff are nice Cons: Roches and bugs, Bad smell , Unsafe ( the police came yesterday and evacuated the hotel as they were arresting someone ) , No refrigerator, No water kettle Again , Because of my current situation with the limited funds I would have stayed at this place but if you do have an option to get a better place don't hesitate Also I got kind of rash

I have stayed at this property a few times now, but this was my last. The room was in poor shape. A desk, but no chair. broken dresser. Lamp missing a shade. No toilet paper roller in bathroom. Cable not working. Plaster patch on the wall that had not been repainted. No microwave, although they advertise all rooms have microwaves. In no way, did my room look like the one in the picture. Cheap, yes,,, but barely worth it.

This was literally the worst place I’ve ever stayed in the roaches and the broken furniture aside . There was a police raid and tv wasn’t working at all . Don’t be fooled by the pictures .

We were lucky to have made it through the night

This is not a hotel for decent folks upon entering a little girl and her sister were in the hall and told me and my sister hopefully your room don’t got roaches or bedbugs due to the fact that it was already late. I had no choice but to stay due to the fact that I don’t drive in the dark, but would I ever go to this location again never I checked out first thing 6 AM thank God I had big bags in my truck and tied up everything in bags. I must admit nothing did bite me and I didn’t bring anything home. I went to another hotel in Woodbridge Extended StayAmerica, which is excellent.

REFUGEE ROACH HOTEL

There were roaches!!!! I think the hotel was being rented by refugees or something? There were people living there with children. The kids were playing kickball in the hallway. The parents didn't care that they were loud and didn't speak english well.

It is absolutely, positively SHAMEFUL of Travelocity / Expedia to keep Red Carpet Inn / Scottish Inn off Route 10 in Whippany NJ on its travel websites. This is NOT even a 1 star hotel! It is used as a homeless shelter not only for good people just temporarily in a tough spot but for drug addicts and criminals. Imagine - I spoke to someone upon leaving and there are young families with babies there, getting sick from the amount of mold and mildew in all the carpeting! Getting ill from the bad water. The young woman I spoke to was upset that the State of New Jersey had the nerve to send her there to stay after losing her home from a job loss - so that tells you the owners are getting kickbacks from the State and don't care to keep the property nice for anyone, much less world weary travelers. If I was allowed to upload more photos, I would! I have so many on the unsafe, unclean conditions of the rooms, the buildings, the attitude of the family who owns and runs the place. I wanted to cancel and get another place before going there after reading the reviews but the refund would have taken 7 to 10 days, and money was needed to cover other travel for a memorial service between paychecks. All I can say is this is false advertising! NONE of the photos posted by the owners on Travelocity or elsewhere are the actual conditions of the rooms! Do NOT book here! I will be filing complaints to whomever oversees travel hotels, and see if that makes Travelocity do something.
