Great find in a wonderful neighborhood!

This inn was a fantastic find in a great neighborhood. We were welcomed by a very friendly desk clerk upon arrival and informed of a social they host for guests in the evening as well as the breakfast offered in the morning. The social offered wine and light snacks which was a pleasant way to unwind and relax after a busy travel day and breakfast (served in the same room) was continental offering several options for food and coffee. Rooms were very comfortable (we had two) with plenty of space for my friend and I to pull chairs up by the window to chat and enjoy the neighborhood view while catching up. It is an older building but very charming and well kept. I’d definitely stay here again and have been recommending it already to others considering visiting the area. The neighborhood also felt safe and comfortable (unlike another we were supposed to stay in a few nights earlier which we left bc of that) different neighborhoods can be extremely different in Philly and I’m very happy we found this one. My friend is a smoker so we took a nice walk around the area and took in the architecture and charms of the surrounding streets. Parking is in a garage a few blocks away. I’d called ahead to inquire about parking and again, staff was very helpful and patient in explaining the arrangements they have with a certain garage and gave us clear instructions about getting the rate honored to their guests. All in all a great experience!

Amazing Service!

Very impressed with our stay at Alexander Inn. We arrived early due to an overnight flight and the staff were very considerate and helpful to accommodate us. Especially the man working on the morning of July 25, he was great in helping us get checked in as early as possible. Otherwise, the breakfast was okay: we just stuck with the bagels and yoghurt, but there wasn’t too much variety. Despite it being >30C outside in a heatwave and being on the top floor, our room was kept a great temperature bc of the AC.

This place reminds of cheap rundown motels in 1990’s when I was in college. Parking was nightmare, no place to leave your car to check in. I had to walk ten minutes after I parked my vehicle in offsite parking garage at 11pm on Friday night paying $45 for 12 hours without in and out options. I could have stayed other nicer reputable hotels paying same rate per night with valet parking option for $50-$70.

The staff was helpful and friendly. Easy to get to destinations downtown from the area, but later at night, some of the area was a little sketchy if you went one direction on 12th. Parking is not quite what is advertised; it is just 10% off, and the rate is more than on the website for 1 day, 14 hours. I spent $90.00 after the discount. Clean, having new towels and toiletries left out in the hall with the do not disturb sign hung was nice. Breakfast was okay, couldn't get one type of cereal out of the dispenser because of the size, the fresh fruit was nice, ran out of cream cheese. Wine and snacks in the evening were a nice touch. The bed is fairly comfortable. Older hotels don't expect the fanciest or largest bathroom, but they have good water pressure.

The staff was super friendly and the location was amazing. Breakfast was very complete, with different milk options for vegans for example. The room is a bit small if you have too much luggage, but it works out fine.

Girl at breakfast seemed overwhelmed with quite a few guests all at once. Please fix the coffee dispensing units. Had to do a lot of pumping. There are better coffee pots available to inns. Check in was slow due to a perceived problem with our room but apparently that room wasn’t ours. We were early so it wasn’t a big problem for us but seemed avoidable. The room was nice, good view, and comfortable. Staff was friendly.

Fantastic hotel for seeing Philly.

The room was nice and cozy, the staff were polite, and the cleaners placed items very respectfully on my bed. The bed itself was a bit small, but that's my fault for requesting a twin and not something bigger. Overall, amazing.

Did not hold the room I paid for. TV had issues where speakers seemed like they were blown, and the picture was reduced to about 1/2 the size of screen. Wanted to like the place and It has good. qualities for sure, but frustrated by the room they gave me on 2nd floor, right by elevator, with messed up TV.
