I would have given this hotel a five star rating except for one important issue. As soon as I got in the elevator I noticed a very strong, noxious odor like burning oil. I notified the front desk clerk. She said a company had been there the day before to service the elevators. In her words, "They topped off the fluids". So, I think it was burning hydraulic fluid. There are three elevators. I used two of the three and both had very strong fumes. I stopped using the elevators and used the stairs instead, but I could smell the fumes down the hallway. I reported the issue three times and then again when I checked out. I don't think the management considered it important because when I told the clerk about it as I was checking out he seemed to think it was normal to have the fumes after elevator service. It is not normal. It is a health hazard. I will not stay there again. I feel bad for the hotel cleaning staff who have to work there and use the elevators frequently. There were no other problems. The room was clean. The breakfast was good. It's very unfortunate the management isn't informed enough to recognize the health hazard that exists from those elevators.
