This place has been newly remodeled from the old Sands Regency Hotel & Casino. The rooms have nice new upgrades and are clean and quiet. The property is secure and safe with keycard requirements to get up to your room. However, the place could use a few key upgrades and fixes in critical areas. First, there was no daily room service for my room, even though I didn’t have a sign on the door. Seems they will not service your room unless you ask. Also, the plumbing in the hotel needs work, because when you turn the hot water on you get nothing but this gray color water coming out. It was the same for the shower. There was one time when the shower had nothing but brown, dirty water coming out for several minutes. The gym has also been upgraded, but it lacks cleanliness, and doesn’t seem to be on a cleaning schedule by the staff. The equipment was dirty and dusty with sweat marks from previous users, and there were no sanitation wipes available to wipe down the equipment, and neither were there any workout towels. This hygiene issue needs to be fixed asap. The property itself also lacks any place onsite to get food when its late in the hour. They should have some form of a 24-7 coffee shop style restaurant open for guests to be able to get something to eat, or install a self-service vending market to get food when needed.

There wasn't a free breakfast but the restaurant inside Hannahs is amazing. Its clean, professional and every menu item from breakfast lunch and dinner is amazing and delucious. The J Resort Rewards is worth signing up and gives dining discounts. The housekeeping staff is very accomodating and keeps things clean and stocked. We have family in Reno and will only stay at the J Resort which is conveniently located downtown Reno.
