Old fashioned, in a good way

I had to attend some meetings outside and also work in my room for several hours. I found my room extremely comfortable, roomy and well appointed. I was able to work and rest just fine.

The room was comfortable, and we loved the location! The only thing is that when our toilet clogged, the staff that came in to fix it left “stuff” in the toilet after she unclogged it. Don’t know why she did that.

We used to stay here when we visited / school 30 years ago - came back for reunion and all the memories were spoiled with dark, dingy rooms, bare beds - nothing plush or comfortable like i recall. very loud street noice. smells musty. left a day early since we couldnt sleep well with street noise and an uncomfortable bed/ and very thin bedding. just didnt meet our expectatipns and past experiences

Nice hotel

We had one of the new eclectic rooms and it was great. Nice to have coffee in the lobby at all times. It would be helpful for front desk to have brochures or walking maps of the area.

The Berkeley Hotel was no doubt opulent around 1990. The corded telephone within reach of the toilet (because cell phones were extremely rare at that time) proves this hotel's level of luxuriousness in it's day. The folks working there in 2025 are kind and helpful, but all fixtures and furnishings are in dire need of updating and room cleaning standards are lacking. Not hideous but I would personally make a different choice if returning to that area again soon.

Loved the location! Our bathroom was not as clean as one would like. Even after letting the front desk know the situation, nothing was done. We bought Clorox wipes and cleaned it ourselves. When we told the manager our problem she reduced our rate—we would have much preferred a clean bathroom to begin with.
