We were here for three nights. We had stayed here a few times before but this was much worse. All though we are older, we were put in building 6 - a very long walk in the rain and three elevators from the lobby. First night we lost power to our building for about 4 hours. Another time all the lights outside the rooms were out, making it dangerous to walk anywhere. The toilet internals were corroded and broke (the lever to flush). There was only decaf coffee in the room but it didn't matter because the coffee maker didn't work. There was bottled water in the room but a little slip of paper we didn't see until later said they were $4 each. The phone in the room had the wrong room number on it. There was no wifi in our building. The desk said they were working on it - but a maintenance guy said it had not been installed yet. The nearest gate to the outside was locked with a bicycle lock. Had to go from street level to garage level to walk to the street. One night there was a very loud party in the room next to us and some children in the room above jumping off the bed. But they all quieted down by 11:30pm. Nothing was horrible but too many little things add up. It's a great location but needs work.

For the exterior this property is majestic, from the interior it is very very very dated and one of the worst rooms we've ever stayed in. Thankfully we only stayed one day. Hey Best Western, invest in upgrading this iconic hotel.

The perfect place to stay and shop the unique shops one street over So fun and a safe place, even for myself and young granddaughter. Rooms are big, older decor but it is in Old Town

Very nice hillside property right in Old Town San Diego. In terms of design, I would rate this as probably the prettiest BW hotel we’ve stayed at. The rooms are clean and well appointed with nice beds, linens, tv, coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Onsite overnight parking is available for a reasonable $15. The one negative comment is the buffet breakfast. The food offerings are identical to those available at other BW hotels, adequate but nothing special. And while the breakfast at other BW’s is included in the room rate, this one charges an additional $12.95. Also, on this day all the hot food items were cold. Unlike other BW’s, however, this restaurant also serves lunch and dinner that we did not have an opportunity to try.

100% recommend to anyone looking for a small affordable get away with family/friends or even a solo trip. The atmosphere feels as if you are in a different country but still close to home. So many beautiful sightings. The food is amazing. The customer service is excellent. Definitely will be coming back for any occasion.
