Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately the heater did not work on the first day. It has a big space. Location is okay. Need to go to Gaslamp for dinner. Some area were not safe walking alone.

The heat didn't work so it was a very cold night. The metro outside the hotel made very loud noise every 4-5 minutes all hours of the day and night! We were promised a bottle of wine upon booking that never materialized.

Hotel was beautiful. Staff was friendly. We did not partake in the rooftop bar or pool as it was full of kids at the time. (Maybe recommendation could be no children under 18 after X time?) Overall very happy with hotel. Bed was comfy, loved layout of bathroom for privacy. Only 2 comments. (Which did not impact the 5 star rating) 1) pillows were not ideal 2) our room window faced the metro trolly street. So we were unable to ever sleep in due to the constant beep beep from the trolly every 2 minutes or so starting at 5 am each day.

Surrounded by countless of homeless people, felt unsafe walking out. Hotel itself is clean, little outdated.

Rooms are very generously sized, with a nice bathroom. Rather odd decor - the whole building is designed to feature Versailles-style decor, despite having been built in the 1970s. Resort fee is ridiculous, and can't be opted out. Valet parking (no self parking allowed) is also overpriced. So while the hotel itself is reasonably nice, it's not worth the money.
