I've tried several dog friendly hotels in Pismo/San Luis Obispo while visiting my daughter at Cal Poly. Hands down, Edgewater is the best for our needs. They don't charge and extra dog fee. They have suites with full kitchen so I can make home cooked meals for my college daugther. Easy access to the beach. Just cross the street and you're there. Breakfast and afternoon snacks served. The rooms are nothing fancy, but most dog friendly places aren't. Everything works well and was clean. Surrounding area is very busy with surfers and beach visitors parked nearby.

Such a gem. Perfectly situated, literally walked out of the room onto the beach. Walking distance of downtown Pismo. Great eateries. We will stay here again next time we come to Pismo. Thank you!!

When we checked into the room they only gave us one room. Then called us at 11 pm to tell us we didnt check into our other room. There was no coffee or milk for cereal at breakfast. I understand you get what you pay for but there was mold in the sink where you brush your teeth. The only good this about this motel was the worker was extremely kind (but forgot to check us into our secodn room until 11 pm when we were already asleep)

How does this property have good reviews?? It’s very old and run down, both our neighbors could be heard talking and making lots of noise into the night, strong smell of bleach when you walk in the room and on the bed linens, when we wiped the floor with a towel it was dirty, and heavy deposits on showerhead with poor water pressure….Rooms need to be remodeled. Do yourself a favor and spend more money on a hotel like San Castle Inn. It wasn’t worth saving money, and a rate of close to $200/ night was outrageous as it was for the condition of the property. The reasons I gave two stars instead of one were due to the front desk employees being pleasant, it was a close walk to downtown, and the free cookies were a nice touch, but that isn’t enough to warrant staying there.
