Quinta Bella has the feel of a high quality (AI) Resort, but without the dining commitment. The restaurants on site are great, but so are many within a very walkable distance. I very much enjoyed my stay.

We returned to the hotel after a six year absence. Our previous stay enticed us to return as we relished the quiet, out of the way intimate feeling of the property. There were renovations going on six years ago that we thought meant the addition of some new rooms and a new restaurant. Much to our surprise, the hotel has changed dramatically in ways that are probably appealing to many but not so much to us. Gone was the intimate, small property feel. Instead, the hotel now has 8 restaurants to choose from which from a marketing perspective is a wise choice for them. The emphasis on gastronomy is apparent and provide guests with a range of cuisines all within the hotel property. However, with all those choices, it was laughable that you couldn't get guacamole at the pool or some of the other restaurants serving lunch outdoors. A little too "foodie" for our taste. We walked and ate all of our meals either down the beach, or in either La Crucecita or Santa Cruz the nearby towns. That being said, it's a lovely property, ideally situated to explore the Huatulco area.

Renovated room was nice but it was in an area that was under construction. Staff was not very friendly and were no help in getting us taxis because of the security in the parking lot. Overcharged us for drinks at the pool. Would not stay there again.

Though the hotel was clean, quaint and with a great selection of eating choices I WOULD NOT recommend using the SPA service. There are cameras recording you undressing and all your time in the spa. I know many people are nude or with bare minimum clothes before covering with massage table covers. Myself and my daughter received services, only when the service was done and I was about to get off the massage tables did I see live cameras. We both were very disturbed. I have spoke to people working at the hotel and I believe the owner and they do not seem to feel this system needs to change. I even suggested a sign and a curtain to change behind before the therapist enter and it was not welcomed.

I've stayed at this property at least 3 other times. The "Superior Rooms" are much nicer than their regular rooms. However, even with the nicer rooms, you do not get any kind of welcome feeling. There are 4 different forms you need to sign at check in. I had to leave an ID for day passes, even though I was a registered guest with a credit card on file. There are security guards everywhere, making me feel very uneasy. The only taxis that are allowed past the guard shack are those dropping off passengers from the airport. If you are coming from anywhere else, you have to get out of the cab and walk the rest of the way, even if it is late at night, or you have bags. You need to walk out to the main road to flag one down. They wouldn't let me check my daughter in even though I had already paid for the room. It's a very weird vibe. That said the women who work in the spa were AWESOME!
