Dirty and not well kept

The hotel lobby, elevator, and rooms were filthy. Dirt everywhere and places that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The bed must was uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. Halls were very dark (probably so you couldn’t see how dirty it was). The desk clerk was kind and easy to work with, but the overall impression with the hotel and stay was not good.

What made this hotel the best for our stay was the staff. The hotel was in good condition but not pristine. It was very clean and the staff were very attentive and kind.
