This hotel is suitably close to centre of Southampton. If you travel by car then it is very easy to access. The place is quiet and good dining options available at the hotel.

Bad odour in Room

We recently stayed at this hotel the overall hotel was clean and nice however the room we stayed was not comfortable at all. Every time we walked in the room the room had this horrible odour. We even spoke to the receptionist Ben and unfortunately he could not do anything other spray some room spray we weren’t able to change rooms due to the being fully booked. On top of the bed and pillows was so uncomfortable probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Considering we stayed two nights we should have been given that option to change rooms. I wouldn’t stay there again

Do not order food at the restaurant inside the hotel. We had to wait 3 hours and when the food came it was totally wrong. Countless things couldn't be ordered either as ingredients were missing or "off" in the kitchen. Birthday event ruined. Manager was very aggressive and defensive when raising the issue.

I have been different 4* hotel, but I didn’t respect like this service since we checked in. 1)Parking- Different staff said different things. 2)Bedroom- Towels are yellowish colour, not white. Beding Cover and pillowcases, they both have greasy smell, and spots stain. 3)Bathroom- Shower rail holder was broken, shower head was yellowish, hand basin was blocked. 4)I didn’t expect I need to pay for hot chocolate for myself, one of the receptionist said because I ordered from the bar.( But the things was, nobody in the reception how can I ask?) 5)I didn’t expect there were No chocolate powder offer in the room at all, only essential brand coffees and Twinnings tea bags. ( Is that a 4* hotel service will be like this??) 6)We finished breakfast in the dining area, but we just hang around to finish our hot drink, one of the staff just shout out and talk with her colleague , breakfast time is finish at 10……(Is that a 4*hotel service will be like this??) 7)I saw different guests try to request something or asking somethings,they seems to have the same answer ( I didn’t know that, no one passed me a message, let me go to find out for that ) lol….lol…. (Is that a 4*hotel service will be like this??) They are only smile on you when you are checked out and leaving the hotel.lol….lol…. The review I wrote which is from my heart,and I went to different Double tree before, they were not like this honestly.Hopefully this review it will help your management team to looking for a new solution

Check before it's too late!

Hotel and room excellent. Bed mattress and bed pillows were tired, needed a new mattress and new bedding essentials. Reported to reception upon leaving, as nothing would have been done in a reasonable time frame out of hours. Apart from that, the hotel, bar and restaurant are good, staff excellent.

The hotel was by itself with its Carpark yet I was informed on arrival that parking was charged for at ap price of £7.50 yet the management had a disclaimer in the carpark regarding loss or damage and no security in car park so what was i paying for???

No responsibility for parking yet when you went to reception and booked your car in if you pay by card didn’t say that there was a charge but if you paid by cash they did £12 for a standard straight brandy £30 for sale and steak. No change in the tills day after today hoping you’ll just leave the change as a tip took £100 that they said was a deposit for things that I might book to the room, but I didn’t now I’ve got a wait days to get the hundred pound back.
