The staff were fantastic and our room was very clean.We did arrive very early and the room was going to be ready in an hour, however they kept our luggage in a secure room for us and we went for lunch. We will definately stay again.

The lady at the front desk was so friendly and I appreciated the upgraded room we got with a gorgeous view of the harbour! I’ve been here twice and both were good experiences! Call ahead to ask where parking is as a lot of people (I am people) get confused and park under the shopping centre.

First and foremost, I want to say how incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional the front desk staff are...the lack of stars has absolutely NOTHING to do with the staff at all. And nor does it have any bearing on the location...it is THE BEST. It is right inside the Lonsdale Quay...there is no better convenience than this. Now to the room...I had room 323, which had the most incredible view. Layout was good. The bed was quite comfortable. But important to note...this is a very old hotel. The last time I stayed here I vowed not to stay here again because of how gross and worn-down the hotel was...until I learned that Coast took over. I see they have done 'some' minor upgrades...newer laminate floors (vs. gross carpet), new mattresses, and bedding. It's more or less the same room, just 'appears' upgraded. But again can't really complain because of how economically priced it is...for what you get. This is where I take 2 stars away: the cleanliness of the room. Or lack there of. No matter how old the hotel is, I believe that a hotel room should be spick and span. The floor had a tackiness to it...like it hadn't been washed before. Thank goodness they provide complimentary slippers. The bathroom was not even close to up to par with what should be considered 'clean'. Finger prints on the toilet seat, someone's body hair on on the shower wall, calcium build up in shower corners, caked on dust on the electrical outlet, and splashes on the mirror. Book accordingly.
