Warren is a lovely town, with tree lined streets and the Alleghany River running through it. Alas, the Quality Inn is nowhere near the town (although from an architectural point of view, this is just as well), rather it is at the edge of an industrial estate. We hoped its proximity to a park would compensate, but there’s a highway running across what might have been an access point. Well, never mind, we’re just here to sleep. But oh how tired this place is. Everything is a bit scruffy, in need of TLC and a good wipe. The staff are friendly enough, but not terribly concerned by reports of any problems.
I know Quality Inn/Choice Hotels are franchised, and firmly in the ‘value’ category of hotels, but we’ve stayed in bargain motels that are bright and cheery, and this overnight was just depressing.
