Gross Hotel

There is no, air conditioning, WIFI or Television!! Only one place to eat dinner in the hotel and it was book the two nights we stayed. The only other place to eat was down the street and it was a gross cafeteria!! The worst thing was it was filthy!!!! Do Not stay there!!!

No dining options other than the Inn. Worst meal in a long time. Dry chicken. Dry, overcooked New York strip and $160 bill. Small room. >$500 night. You’re in the park. Maybe try Old Faithful lodge or stay in the cabins. Location is the only plus.

Overall the stay was decent. No AC and the windows barely opened so it was a little hot and stuffy. It was also pretty expensive overall.

With there being so many sights we wanted to see in the park, we chose an onsite hotel to save time travelling in and out. If you want to eat at the hotel, book a table in advance to get a choice of time (we arrived early afternoon and couldn't get a table until 9.15). Even though the hotel might overlook a lake, don't expect that your room/cabin will. We were disappointed that we were nowhere near the lake and felt the discription was misleading. There is a shop near the hotel, but it's expensive as you'd expect. If you're happy to pay $10 for a basic, pre-prepared sandwich or loaf of bread, you'll be fine. Wylie's Canteen at the Lake Lodge is a good alternative for food

No air conditioning or WiFi was available. The curtain had a large tear. There was a large gap in the screen at the bottom of our window that allowed numerous cobwebs to accumulate. We left the window open to get cooler air. Fortunately, no bugs crawled through the gap in the window that night.

The place was decent but no AC or fan in the room. Window only opened 2 inches so it was really stuffy and uncomfortable. Dining is not great. Must have reservations and no priority given to guests. Save your money and stay at the Old Faithful inn. $600 wasted.

The cabins were not that great, no wifi, very little food choices and no way to communicate with the front desk.Hair dryer literally fell apart in my hands. I understand it’s old but you can provide a more modern stay.

We stayed in the cabins. The cabin was quite comfortable, clean and very conveniently located. The staff were friendly and helpful. A mini fridge and microwave inside the room would be nice as dining options are limited. We didn’t eat inside the hotel and one needs reservations for dinner. Being out exploring the park all day lent itself best to packing a picnic lunch. The food available throughout the park was so so - the bison burger was dry and overcooked, the bison bratwurst was pretty goid but salty. Hamburgers were dry, etc. So all in all having a small fridge for lunch meat, snacks, would be helpful. There is a single serve coffee maker in the room with coffee pods and some tea bags. Various sweeteners but no creamer. We really enjoyed our stay as we were able to explore a lot of the park from this location. The beds were comfortable. Fans and heaters were provided. Parking was right outside the door for us. The whole area was quiet and peaceful. No internet where we were. Cell service very spotty. Nav system in the car worked fine though so all was good. The wildlife and the park itself were. awesome.

It’s a bit of a train station. Very big and lacks personable design. Lake view room on ground floor is on a path so need to keep curtains drawn. No mini bar or bottled water in the room. No wifi, no air conditioning and of course very poor cell reception. Ceiling light stays on in bathroom all night, no way to turn off. In common areas, furniture is musty and old, dinning area is very big and impersonal as hotel has lots of rooms. They should create two dining offers. Food is ok at best but steaks killed with sauces. Salad somewhat wilted. Breakfast buffet is barely ok, eggs are over cooked and dry, no toast or toaster, you have to ask for things, OJ, milk, etc. Which sort of kills idea of a buffet. Basically the hotel could use a major overhaul. Bar is small for the hotel size and incredibly the hotel (on the lake with nice vista) makes zero use of its outdoor terrace and patio. No chairs aside from 4 or 5 rockers for 200 people or more. Clearly hotel is resting on laurels of past and the lack of competition in the park.

Wish there were places to sit with a view of the lake. Wish there was decaf available somewhere for purchase in the evening. Lake lodge restaurant was terrible! Clean cabin. Nice staff. Quiet.

Very nice property on the lake. Notes though: 1. King suite that overlooks the lake is a small window that overlooks the roof then overlooks the road before you can get a view of the lake. It is NOT on the lake 2. The hotel is the ONLY place to eat. Make dinner reservations when you make your hotel reservation! Overall very nice
