hotels.com mishap w. hotel
This was due to hotels.com - I actually have no reason to comment on the hotel itself because hotels.com canceled my reservation before we even arrived and were a couple hours away.
There was a discrepancy in room choice due to hotels.com allowing us to book a room that was no longer available. We were happy to take the change to a smaller room but upon contacting hotels.com for partial refund as instructed by the front desk, we were told that we could only keep our reservation or cancel for full refund - after they contacted the hotel themselves. We decided to keep our reservation, even though we would have a different room than what we paid for, but upon contacting the property to verify our reservation was still in place, turns out hotels.com had canceled us and refunded our money to be returned within 7 to 10 business days. We were literally on our way to the hotel and had to scramble plans, not to mention out $900 in limbo somewhere. I have used hotels.com for over 10 years and this was such terrible service. If I had not had the instinct to not called the hotel to confirm we would have arrived without a reservation late at night. So disappointed.
