Clean, except around edge of bed. No plastic cups in bathroom. Other than that the room was nice. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. As quiet as any hotel in downtown area of Athens. Staff was accomodating.

Location was good and the check-in was fast, unfortunately there is major road/building construction and it was very loud (did stop from 1am-6am) but not a restful night to say the least. No coffee in the “breakfast” area, Both vending machines in lobby broken.

When arriving, the hotel was completely inaccessible from the street and appeared closed. When calling to cancel, I was told to go thru the next door gas station parking lot. They were able to email in advance about a $10 parking fee, but not able to email about the closed roads and parking not, nor was there any signage to help. The hotel was also significantly more run down than shown in the photos.

Front desk person was excellent. He was professional and customer-oriented. The first room he assigned me to had a very noisy AC unit. The 2nd had plumbing problems. He graciously changed the room each time and made sure the 3rd was ok and in a suitable location. The property/facility is well used and it shows. Maybe it’s due for a renovation? Bed was comfortable and clean as was tub and toilet. Bathroom floor was mopped, but not well and there was dirt built up in the corners. Instead of leaving early, I stayed because of the customer service of the front desk person and the comfortable bed and clean tub/toilet. There is major construction 24 hrs around the facility making it noisy and hard to access, but this is temporary. Location is convenient to the University and major avenues in and out of town.

The photos look really nice, but when you get to your room, there is a newer part of the hotel and an older part of the hotel. The photos are definitely from the newer part. The first room was in the older rooms in a corner that had two maintenance closets, was loud and smelled like trash. The room was outdated and stuffy, it didn't feel clean. Went to ask to upgrade and the desk agent was really nice, he upgraded me for free. I feel it's a sort of bait and switch with how the rooms are presented in the photos. The second room was in the newer tower, it was larger, more comfortable, felt cleaner, brighter, indoor access, and on an upper floor which I prefer, and it didn't smell like trash. I recommend just paying the extra $12 to get the room in the tower. It's worth it.

The machine didn’t work, There was a roach in the laundry also the laundry room was nasty and didn’t even clean my clothes🤔 we’ve asked The front desk to sent someone to clean our room and They didn’t even sent anyone to clean our room? I mean The service was that bad??? Also the breakfast WAS NASTY I mean come on how could you make the breakfast that bad. How come the waffles were the only thing that was good?? Honestly why pay that much for a BAD SERVICE!??? go

It’s a motel.

I pulled up to the hotel not realizing it is actually a motel, which would have been fine had I not been traveling alone. My room was actually inside the hotel portion - so I was not too worried. But the ice maker on my floor was literally right outside the door to my room. Loud and annoying. Walked into my room and though it was clean, it was old and nasty. Stains in the shower, cheap pillows. I ended up leaving - didn’t even unpack my bag.

Did not like- dirt in threshold of room-first impression of room. No pool even though in he ad , it said there was a pool-there were towels on the rack near the pool even though we were told pool had not been open since Covid. There were no cups or chair in the room. Had to pull night stand out to plug in phone and it was filthy underneath. The shower was designed so that water flowed in the dressing area and we had to use towels to mop up the water which left us short on towels. I would never recommend Best Western in Athens, GA

Infront of my room were bags of trash all type of stuff that smells. My tub was clogged whomever cleaned before didn't remove the previous rags from off the shower curtain because one fell once i moved the shower curtain and one was still hanging. but the guy at the front was vey nice.
