A modern hotel and spotlessly clean throughout. Checking in seems to take longer than necessary with lots of clicking on the keyboard by the receptionist for every guest. Our room was a "suite" which had a small lounge and a reasonably sized separate bedroom and the usual compact shower room. There was too much clumsy and rather cheap looking furniture in the lounge area and two plug sockets didn't work. Two large tall pots with vile plastic imitation green hedge balls also adorned the room...why? Smart TV in room with many channels but the TV wasn't setup to WiFi so rendering Netflix etc as unusable. The biggest negative for this hotel is the constant banging of doors ricocheting down the corridors due to them having hard flooring. Most noise was caused by the exit door to the lift/stairs not having a soft close. Reported it but by the time we left nothing had been done. A nice enough hotel but completely devoid of any character and individualism. If this hotel was positioned by the sea in Spain it would be fine but for a city centre property it is lacking.

Another great stay

This is our 2nd time this year at this particular Axel hotel. we really enjoy the spa facilities. The steam room and jacuzzi are great, sadly the sauna wasn’t working on our visit this reduced my score, however reception advised we could use the other axel facilities if that was a problem. The spa is open until around 2am and was often busy at 11pm. We recommend getting the room above the city grade room as there is a huge difference in size. The beds.... these made our day rather unproductive as we didn’t want to get out of them as they are so comfortable!! Sadly the pillows has room for improvement. The shower facilities in the room appear to have had doors installed since our last visit which is a good improvement as reduces any mess in the bathroom, which has heated floors. Will likely stay again!

Visiting for weekend for event good hotel

Pros: The staff are all pleasant, helpful and efficient. The hotel is very modern, clean and well maintained. Wifi is reliable and the facilities in rooms.
Cons: They need to add an evening meal service to the restaurant upstairs.
Location: It is a bit of a walk to nearest shopping and tourist areas and there not much choice nearby for food or general shopping etc.
This is the second event in two months that i have come to Berlin for and the second stay i have had at this Hotel. Last time i had the basic double which was great and this time i went up to one of the bigger rooms/suites and it was perfect. The hotel is clean, its modern, the cleaning is daily, the reception staff are helpful and efficient. There are good facilities in the rooms and in the wellness area also very clean. The only downside is its around a 10 min walk to the nearest shopping area and 15 min walk from the other Axel in Berlin which is in the LGBT district where a lot of the LGBT events are held but its right next to metro stops and the walks are not unpleasant in the daytime and a fairly short taxi to so that is easily overcome. Reasonable breakfast but sadly no evening restaurant and not that many good ones near by so again you probably will need travel for good evening meals. The wifi is reliable.

Very nice adults only.

Nice hotel with friendly stuff. Near metro station, so easy to get around city. Though walking distance to KaDeWe for example.

Clean and modern with friendly staff

Pros: Modern clean rooms with good decor and hotel staff
Cons: Please tell the cleaners to stop slamming doors as they go in and out from 9am in the morning as sound proofing is not great on these rooms.
Location: The local area is not great but you can get nearby parts of the city that offer more by 10-15 min walk or a tube or short taxi.
Two by Axel is quite clean and modern the standard room i had was a little on the small size but had all the comfort and facilities i needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The spa and gym were clean and new but i prefer the one at the other Axel in the city as this is in the basement and feels a bit more like a leisure center than a hotel spa in terms of decor etc. My only other draw back is that its a bit of a walk away from town and a large part of the walk i would not want to do in the dark. That said the tube is right next door so thats an option and taxi between this hotel and the other Axel if you are going out in that area was around 10 euros. I would say this place is much better value for money than the other Axel and yet stil a good hotel. I would stay again.

Great hotel

I'll be honest the main reason I booked this hotel over the other Axel was the price. However saying that I will only be returning to this hotel when I'm in Berlin. The hotel was fantastic, new, fresh white and clean. Touch buttons throughout. Nice jacuzzi steam room and sauna. Downfall is sauna was far too hot so I didn't use it but used the steam room. The air conditioning in the room isn't strong and in summer struggles. In saying that there's huge radiators in the room and appears the bathroom floor is heated for winter which I look forward to trying during the winter months. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and a large tv. Bed very comfortable with 2 different strength pillows. Very close to U9 ubahn and on the next corner u7 and u9. To go from Schöneberg back to the hotel at night maybe a €8 uber. Alexanderplatz was approximately €23 back from GMF. Down near the shell petrol station there's a lovely quiet street with a few cafes I would suggest visiting.
