There were people smoking marijuana in the hotel on the 3rd floor and it smelled horrible. The mgmt team did attempt to address, but they indicated that they could not tell who did it. Made us feel very unsafe and very disappointed that they would let this occur in their hotel.

For a newish building, it is quite run down. This may be a result of poor cleaning. We saw two rooms. Neither was properly cleaned and both showed extensive wear (ie padded foam headboard flaking vinyl everywhere), stained curtains and chairs along with dirty showers and sinks. Stains everywhere. Sticky bathroom floors and the toilet seat was worn, flaking and delaminating. Cleaning and maintenance staff seem to be failing.

Frustrating follow up

Staff refuses to get me an Invoice so I can get reimbursed. They claim only "Expedia" has the Invoice, I booked through hotels.com and chose to "pay at property" so my credit card was charged by the hotel but apparently getting an invoice is impossible. The room was nice the breakfast area was quite dirty and crammed, we were stuck immediately beside the garbage and had people climbing over us to throw their waste away.

The room was clean. Some in the building made noise 24/7. The breakfast was mediocre and the coffee at 6:15 in the morning was lukewarm at best and tasted burnt. I mentioned it to one of the staff and waited 20 minutes but no new coffee was made. I won't be staying here again.

I used the online app and "pre-checked" in the day before, upon arriving the staff at the desk I informed the staff of that, he didnt ask for an ID or my confirmation #, just my last name, gave me one key/card and told me the room #. When we went to that room, I used the key card, only to find it was already occupied (lights were on and belongings inside). We returned to the front desk and the staff then tried telling me that I had "already checked in to my room hours earlier", to which I argued that I had used the online check in the day before, but had not physically been on the premises until then. This "debate" went on, even after I made him finally look at my ID. He finally apologized and gave me 2 keys for a different room. I am very glad I did not encounter someone in the first room or this situation would have been even worse.

We had to ask for everything…we had 4 people registered…needed towels daily. Had to go and get out own. The staff were nice but they need more people who speak English. Hard to converse with them. They had breakfast but was the same thing every day. They didn’t clean our bathroom even though we asked. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Was very quiet with the exception of the road work that was taking place in front of the property. Was missing a light bulb in the entrance way and bathroom was in need of a few repairs. Other than these few things I’d stay again.

Having stayed at this hotel many times previously we were rather disappointed on the condition of the hotel and the service. We stayed for 6 nights and had to ask for service 3 days in. Even then they did minimal service, only replacing the towels and emptying the garbage cans. Sheets did not get replaced, not even the beds got made up. The breakfast has gone downhill also. With the amount of hotels in Bismarck we will have other options to choose from since we will not return to the Wingate.

I liked how friendly and quick the staff is in order to please us, we had to change a room due to the bed being dirty. Just stains but no signs of critters. We went to our second replacement room, it's clean, spacious and quite!

This has become our go-to for weekend trips to Bismarck. Clean, friendly staff, welcoming breakfast area. Lots of good restaurants in the area and quick access to everything Bismarck has to offer.
