Nice hotel but hospitality wasn’t great for my experience. The front desk changed my room when they saw I was a solo traveller and was moved to a smaller room on the ground floor. Walls paper thin, could hear the neighbours beside and above. Beds and pillows are very firm. If you are booking thru Expedia there will be additional taxes you will have to pay. This is a no extra frills hotel. No water or coffee in the lobby and 28 euro for one breakfast. There are better hotels to stay at.

The location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the old town area. The hotel room is large with high ceilings. The room was really quiet despite being in a busy street. I would defiantly hear again.

Beautiful 4 star property. We had a large room, modern in an historic building. Super clean, great beds. We used the swimming pool and sauna. Great location, terrific cafes, coffee shop, and chocolate shop just down the block.

Nice room, pool!

The hotel itself is a converted from a mansion/guild hall. Our room, which we got for a good rate, was small, but very quiet, nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. I used the pool, which was fun. It's in a cellar and has a lovely echo. You have to warn them half an hour before if you want to use the sauna, since they have to turn it on. Staff is polite and helpful.

This hotel was in a perfect location to the center of the city. We were able to walk everywhere and see all the sights with ease. Being on a major street, it was a little busy, but not so much we were bothered. The horse drawn carriages came by every morning and the clippity clop of their hooves on the cobblestone street was delightful!

The property is beautiful & old so the layout is odd. It is clean and in a great location within walking distance to the main sites. It is on a busier street however and the noise from the restaurants, people, garbage trucks was too much (they include earplugs in your room if that’s an indicator). You can find quieter hotels within the same distance to the main square as I have previously when in Brugge. The staff were generally nice, however, they force you to allow them in your room even when you have the sign up you do not want cleaning services that day. I had my trash cleared/maid service the day before when the very next day, while I was sleeping in, I got knocks on my door as well as a call from reception after I did not answer the door saying they need to take my trash out. I said u have my sign up plus I had it done yesterday & reception said they still need to empty the trash today. Also, they forced my fellow travelers to let them in their room to monitor & document the mini fridge contents. Every other day someone must come in to monitor the mini fridge regardless. They were also forced for cleaning when they had put their sign up that they did not want it. Overall, it’s pretty & clean, but not being able to be in my room on vacation without being disturbed, being forced to allow someone in when I’ve asked not to be bothered, and the traffic noise on the street it’s on, I would not stay here again.

For a 4 star hotel, very disappointed that the bar had to be closed 2 consecutive nights because bar manager off sick. Also apparently no one else in the hotel had the training to deal with alcohol requests via room service. Surely anyone over 18 is able to pour a shot from a spirit bottle and take the cap off a bottle of coke !!!!

Really lovely hotel, but don’t come for the spa

The hotel room was lovely and the common spaces were very nice too. Weirdly, nowhere to get a hot drink in the hotel (other than the mini kettle in your room) before 4pm though. The “spa” was disappointing - it’s essentially a very small communal sauna (seats 4 people in a cosy manner) and a cold small swimming pool (no loungers or space to sit). We went down to the spa once and didn’t go back. I would still return, but would give the spa a miss and so wouldn’t book here if the spa is a big draw for you (as it was for us).

Weekend stay at the Navarra

An excellent stay at the Navarra. The hotel is spotless and the staff are a credit to it. The hotel is situated a couple of minutes walk from the main square in Brugge and easy distance to the transport systems. After a hard day sightseeing and shopping you can relax in a very friendly bar being run by “Frankie”. He has a wealth of local knowledge and a very competent photographer. Thanks for the suggestions on photo locations.
