The location for the Buffalo marathon was perfect. However, there was a non-stop barking dog in the room next to us. When we asked to move rooms the clerk was very annoyed and seemed like it was a huge inconvenience. Then, our sink was very slow draining. Later in the night, brown sludge started coming out of the sink. We had to call maintenance to unclog and clean the sink. The rooms are outdated and are in desperate need of a facelift.

Rooms Need Work

Lobby looked updated and clean but our room, not so much. The room was clearly cleaned before we checked in, but looked gross. The carpet was horribly stained all over with bright red streaks and what looked like old vomit or spilled food. The other concerning thing was the bathroom. It appeared there had been some kind of water leak or at some point. There was a red/pink mold looking stain above the shower and the wallpaper inside the bathroom above the door was peeling and looked like it may have had a darker mold underneath. The ceiling right outside the bathroom that had a sprinkler system running though it also looked like water had leaked through at some point. Probably should have asked for a different room, but we needed somewhere to just sleep and the beds were clean at least. The staff we interacted with were nice but other than that, I don’t think we’d stay there again for how much we paid for a room in that condition.

I wanted something downtown for one night while attending a concert. I chose it because the parking is directly across from the hotel which was ideal as I do not know Buffalo very well. The concert venue, Electric City was only 2 blocks away, as well as lots of restaurants in walking distance.There is a fantastic whiskey bar across the street.

We had to move rooms multiple times upon arriving. Our first room had a broken fridge, second room had plumbing issues and a broken thermostat. All three rooms were dirty (crumbs on the floor, dust everywhere, etc)…. Luckily I brought my own cleaning supplies and gave everything a good wipe down. While the staff were helpful all of this put a damper on our evening. Another note, the TVs do not have any “smart” capabilities for you log into Netflix or something similar. It’s cable tv or paying $20-30 for a movie.
