The staff was so friendly. The layout and atmosphere was such a good feeling, it felt like being outdoors by the reception and restaurant area. I've been telling friends and family to try. Definitely will be back

I was booked to stay 2 nights. I had an accident after checking in the first afternoon which resulted with me having to stay in hospital. I phoned from the hospital the first night with the understanding I would not be able to get a refund but requested one for the second night and they very bluntly refused. They had plenty of notice to rebook the room for the second nigh (which I’m sure they would have). I feel like there was no compassion shown for my unfortunate situation and rather greedy for a city motel. Plenty of other options around the same area for my next stay in Canberra.

Having stayed here in a 1-bedroom apartment for several days about 15 years ago, we were happy to return for a 3-night stay in February 2025. The unit was spacious, quiet and provided everything we would need for a stay of any length. The full kitchen allowed us to eat in the unit when we wished, and the sitting area was spacious and comfortable. The included daily copy of the Sydney Morning Herald was welcome, as is the recent addition of a light-rail service along Northbourne. If we have a chance to visit Canberra again, we will look to the Pavilion as our first choice for accommodation.

Room 222 is right next to the gym and it was very annoying that the treadmill noise and vibration started at exactly 6am on each of the two mornings I was at the hotel and went on late into the night. I tried turning up the tv during the evening or muffling the sound with pillows from 6 am without much success. It would have been much better had I been made aware of it and could have brought ear plugs or other devices

Worth considering

The Pavillion is convenient and comfortable, with more charm than the usual hotel. While my room was lovely amd clean, I take one star away for the musty smell outside my room.

The staff were great and very helpful,made us feel welcome. Great meals. top marks to all. Bad points. The drive in road needs to be fixed (potholes) and the card swipe to open the gate needs to be in a better positioned so as not having to exit the car to swipe, older persons Like us are to beconsidered.

Had a quick overnight trip to Canberra for work and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Pavillion on Northbourne hotel. Really made to feel like a welcomed and valued guest upon check in. The room was so comfortable and spacious. Had a fantastic meal in the restaurant and a few cheeky beers at the bar. The staff were all friendly - honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay.
