The Francis Marion in Charleston is a great hotel. It is located on King Street which is in the heart of so much that the city has to offer. We had dinner one night in the Swamp Fox, which was very good. We had a very spacious room that included a sitting area. The bathroom was a little on the small side. When we returned one evening, we were pleasantly surprised to see a turndown service with chocolates. A parking garage is located right next to the hotel and the College of Charleston was right there as well.

I loved the older feel to the space. The food was excellent. My only complaint is that when we first arrived, our toilet was not flushing properly. We addressed this with the front desk and they immediately sent someone to fix the toilet which then worked perfectly for the rest of our stay. Right across from the farmers market and many nearby shops and coffee.

We love the area of the property and acquaintance of the hotel. However, the rooms were small and the bathroom was beyond small! if you were on the bigger side, you are not fitting in that bathroom! all in all, we were quite happy with the property and the staff.
