I think I was expecting better since it had an exceptional rating on the website. The room was a bit musty smelling once I closed the windows. The bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable either. The breakfast was really good.

Very disappointed

Not what we expected, very small room and bed sheets were dirty. Then they upgraded to a king suite, a lot nicer. But beside the laundry room, very noisy.and the breakfast, not something everyone will eat.

Friendly staff

A very friendly young man checked us in and was helpful with all inquiries. Home-cooked breakfast was awesome. Rooms could use some updates in furniture and bedding. Limited space with no stand in the bathroom to set things on. Not as clean as I hoped. TV reception is poor. This is not a lodge, it is a motel.

Quaint motel, nice and clean! The free breakfast was excellent and the staff were great! Only stayed overnight but i will definitely stay there next time we are in Cherokee!

The Nightmare Lodge

It’s not as advertised. They don’t allow smoking anywhere on property yet non of their rooms are described as nonsmoking. The description I saw today has a small detail about a smoking fee. They show a lobby in the pictures yet they ask you to check in thru a window. Entering the room, you are fragrance bombed by five different air fresheners they have sitting around to mask odor. The owner was overly aggressive when I shared concerns about not being able to smoke outside to the point I decided I didn’t want to stay there anymore. He then became more enraged, screaming I wouldn’t receive a refund and don’t leave him negative review, while pointing in my face. I handed the key to the man working at the window. The man stood shocked, then screamed dad, after watching this play out. Clearly not his first time seeing this happen. I reminded him I’m a customer and definitely couldn’t stay there after the way he acted. I left. I feel their description and pictures show angles of the property to lure you in. When you arrive the place looks like unkept trailer homes connected together with a gravel parking lot. I felt like I had been pranked. It didn’t look safe to me and the owner didn’t create a welcoming environment. Not to mention they sale the room non-refundable and try to use it to keep you there.

Great little place! We usually stay at Harrah’s but it was sold out. Sweet little quaint place, very clean and big updated bathrooms. Would definitely stay there again ❤️.

Phenomenal!

It was so beautiful! Quaint little place. And the best part, the breakfast was made by the woman who runs the front desk and it was TOP TIER chef quality!!! It was peaceful and quiet and i can't wait to go back! ABSOLUTELY 10/10 While you're there, check out the river!
