I could hear my upstairs neighbors walking, and my next-door neighbors operating sinks and showers. The food at breakfast was good and I appreciated that it started early. Mark at the front desk was very helpful and efficient.

Ive stayed at this property numerous times over the years. Although its outdated, I have always enjoyed my stay. This time, not so well. The room smelled of urine, the bathroom floor was sticky, with a stronger smell of urine, the bed linen smells like vick's vapor rub. I checked in about 3:30p and call front desk, I spoke to Mark, notify him that the room smelled of urine and linen needed

If you’ve ever been curious about what it’s like to live in subsidized housing — or grew up in it and feel nostalgic for the smell of mildew and regret — the Residence Inn Cleveland Independence has recreated the experience with disturbing accuracy. From the moment you pull up, it’s clear: this isn’t a hotel, it’s a retirement home for forgotten furniture. The lobby sets the tone — dim, depressing, and desperately in need of a Hazmat team. Inside the room, it gets worse. The carpet has seen things. The furniture looks like it came from a roadside “FREE” pile. The vibe? Mid-90s transitional housing with a splash of “don’t touch anything.” The “breakfast buffet” feels like a dare — rubber eggs, sausage links that bounce, and a waffle maker that may be a fire hazard. Housekeeping popped in just long enough to prove the room was still occupied. Guests? A rotating cast of long-term residents that give the place more of a halfway house feel than a Marriott property. This isn’t a hotel stay. It’s a sociology case study. If you’re looking for comfort, keep driving. But if you want to remember what rock bottom smells like welcome home.

Had a confirmed reservation for two rooms with proof in writing in hand but was told at the hotel it was for one room and no other rooms were available. Had to find another hotel for the night! Not even an apology offered!

The full kithen was awesome and they breakfast buffet was not at all bad. Sprung for a room with a fireplace, made for a wonderful rainy night. It a real wood burner and I had to buy my own dura flame log at the gas station nearby, but it was worth the effort

This was a decent hotel in a good location. Not too far from downtown and close to the highway. Parking was free and the room was spacious. We found blood on one of the blankets. You could tell it was old and probably had been washed and overlooked. The room was a little outdated, but the best feature was the shower which was updated.

Extremely clean!! The front desk lady (I can't remember her name) was exceedingly kind, friendly and helpful!! She absolutely went above and beyond to ensure my mother and I had a comfortable stay!! She worked both Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th. She is a gem. The entire property was safe, clean and comfortable!! We would absolutely book here again on our next trip!!
