The room was clean. Pros- bed is comfortable, faux wood floor better than carpets, clean room. Cons-Door to outside was ajar, broken railing in the back, cluttered room and dirty door to back entrance, grounds need updating. Could hear family who checked in late next door, and someone talking outside my room about midnight.

Karen at the front desk was welcoming. The glass of wine, a welcome surprise after 4.5 hours in traffic. 2 bottles of Water in the room, what a concept, all places should do that! Made it easy to relax. The rose in the vase was another nice touch. I would stay here again when in the area.

This is a type of property some people will love, while others will find unacceptable. It depends on what you require and value in a hotel. The pros: The price is very good for the state. New Jersey hotels are insanely overpriced, but that's the market. The depends: These items may matter to some people, not to others. Or some people may find things charming, while others dislike it. The cons: The water is soft to the point of feeling slippery and yet sticky, and has a disturbing scent and flavor.

Hidden gem

We were in the area for a couple of nights for my husband's 50th reunion and to visit with the only relative he has left in the area. Very nice room and small touches, like a few fresh flowers in the room and books and candles (battery ones) in the hallways, and a basket with towels folded like on a cruise ship in the bathroom. This is an historic inn, which was a bonus for me as I did not realize that when I booked it. Breakfast is strictly continental and clean up after yourself - cleaner and paper towels were provided on the tables. The staff basically ignored us after check in.(Maybe people who stay here typically like their privacy???) We passed the desk many times, coming and going and to and from breakfast and no one (and this was several different people over the course of our stay) even looked up at us. Had to wait for the clerks to finish their conversation to check out. However, if we are ever in the area, we would definitely stay here again!

Not sure how this hotel earned a 9 out of 10 on Expedia. The Inn has seen better days. It looks worn out in several areas. Our room was large, clean (except with stained carpet) and had a window air conditioner which was very noisy. In addition, we could hear people walking back and forth on the floor above us. The place could use some love!

Our stay was very nice. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite spacious. The king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a little dated but you could tell that some updates were made. All in all I highly recommend the stay.

Very old needed updated, no amenities, walls dirty, paper blind taped to window, window air conditioner very noisy, outside doors are not locked or secured so anyone can walk in, they house homeless people, when spoke to the manager about our complaints I was told if unhappy find a different hotel he was very rude and disrespectful. We booked two nights but only stayed one because it’s was late when we arrived and didn’t know where to go. In the morning we asked if we could be refunded for one night because we would not be staying the second night he refused and said he needed 24 notices. I would never refer this hotel,
