Absolute Crap Hole

This property is a disgrace. I have been to 14 hotels in the last 16 days. This is by far the worst hotel/motel I’ve ever been in! Please look at the pictures. There is mold in the bathroom, the tub floor is dirty and cracking, there is obviously a water leak from above as the paint is bubbling above the shower in a section about 18” long, the weather stripping when I entered the room is falling off the door frame, the material used for the window valance is gross and tucked carelessly in the corner, the electrical cord in the bathroom is not code and comes out of a rigged electrical box, the main light switch in the room is on the same switch as the TV so when you turn the light off it turns the TV off. To top it off I got in my room and there was no TV remote. I looked for a phone to call the front desk but there is none. I had to walk to tell them and they asked me what model the TV was. You’re kidding me right? So the clerk walked with me to the room to find out. When he came back 10 minutes later I also let him know the heater would not work. He said, “oh you just gave to turn the breaker on down by the plug. They stole my money and I was to exhausted to request another room with another list of problems. The price was over inflated because it was in Flagler Beach close to bike week. Not sure how these people live with themselves! Stay away from this roach motel! I’m very surprised that Hotels.com is associated with this disappointment.

Will never stay there again.

The room had 2 beds and only 1 pillow and no mirror in the bathroom and no coffee maker in the room either. It’s definitely not worth what they charge for the rooms. We’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and this was the worst we’ve ever been in.

Great Location. Funky, no frills Motel

The location of Motel was really great- the Beach was just across the street- amazing sunrise views! The Topaz is a funky, no frills motel- perhaps 90 years in operation. Inside the main building beyond the small checkin lobby is a museum of old toys, nostalgia of Hollywood persona, and miscellaneous collections from eras gone by. The whole place is in need of a maintenance uplift, which was somewhat underway with workers visibly power washing and scraping paint. Bare bones room amenities, not a hook or shelve or mirror in the bathroom? Bed was comfortable enough. Front desk helped get pillows and blankets we were lacking as we checked in late evening. The properties restaurant and lounge were closed- apparently to open in a week for spring break, although the motel was already full, with large of travelers there for annual Bike week. For the price and location, I would return.

It’s a place to sleep!! That’s it. Very run down. Rooms are dirty. No mirror. Lucky to get a microwave. Needed to have the bathroom light on to run the electrical outlets in room. No bar and restaurant as described on the property. Over priced. Wouldn’t stay again.

Worst hotel ever.

This hotel has no signage or street number. Drove by 3 times. Check in was 3. Room wasn't ready until after 5. The room was up 2 fights of stairs 1 flight without railings. The bed had only a thin bedspread and a sheet. I was unable to get a response from the desk . I'm 81 and couldn't climb up and down 2 flights of stairs again. The advertised restaurant and bar did not exist. Ingeneral the facility was in terrible condition. The only positive was the view from our rooms balcony. As expected no chairs.. Oh yes, ice was down 3 flights in an alley to a nearby building. I've traveled the world over 81 years and never had an experience like this.

Stay away. This place isnt just run down, it is filthy. Inmade the mistake of walking barefoot. Had to scrub my feet to get clean.The staff was nice but seemed to be clueless. Either that or uncaring. It was cheap and thwnlocal was great but that was it. It was a cold weekend and we were offered a heater. Great but the room was so damp and stale, we needed ac to dry it out. Well there was no ac. I asked for it to be fixed or to borrow a fan. I was not understood. Desk kept telling me I couldnt switch rooms because there were none. Not what I was asking for. We would have found another room but were not offered a refund because of third party booking. I gave up, accepted that I needed to buy a fan. We did. Will never go back there. Not sure where all the good reviews came from. Locals said it used to be a nice place but in the past years it has been left to deteriorate. Pay a little more and go some where else.
