We loved our stay at the Albany Hotel! This was our second time in Edinburgh and we loved how the Albany was small and felt very homely, as opposed to some of the more commercial chains we have stayed at. The staff were great, the room was a great size, very clean, and the bathtub was a game changer after walking around in the cold all day! We will definitely be back to stay at the Albany again.

Very poor WiFi (basement room, 106) and mobile reception. Reception required £100 pre-authorisation deposit not stated in booking terms. No bedside light - up spots above bed, felt a bit harsh. Otherwise room tidy, warm and quiet so “ok” as I got a low ish rate.

Had a pleasant night at the hotel, for a night at the Playhouse,which was very close, check in was quick and easy and the hostess was nice a friendly, room was clean and tidy and to a good standard, 2 minor niggles I had. £100 deposit was taken upon arrival which takes 4-5 business days to be put back in your account, parking outside the hotel is priced at £5 per hour if you can find a space

My room needed a little love (showing some age). I put a towel at the base of the unit door to block hallway noise from early risers | loud talkers in hallway (worked). Hot water took awhile on one of the mornings. Staff are top drawer. Blinds kept the light out = good sleep. No complaints really. Would stay again due to location alone.
