Nice Hotel, don't show up early ....

Stayed here for almost a week while my son attended Marine Leadership courses in Vista. Hotel had a rigid check in process. Drove in from AZ (6hrs) and wanted to check in at 2pm vs. 4pm. I was asked to return at 4. No worries, I went to a local spot called Peabodys and had some snacks and beer. Room was spacious and had a great view of the ocean. Breakfast was the same each day but it was a good selection. Pool was nice and so was hot tub. Good location to nice restaurants. However, if you want to walk to them, you will have to walk up and down the hotel driveway which I appropriately named..."Apetitie Hill".

Spacious, clean room with a beautiful view of the ocean. We booked a double queen with a pull out sofa being a family of four. Free breakfast daily which was a typical hotel breakfast. Nice pool. Gym and laundry on site. Would be nice to see the hotel restaurant revived and a set of stairs installed in place of the steep dirt path they have as a shortcut to the street below. Very close to Moonlight Beach, our favorite spot in Encinitas. We would stay here again!

I WAS NOT PLEASED WITH OUR STAY. THE PRICE DID NOT MATCH THE QUAILTY OUR ROOM HAD BLACK LOOKING DIRT/,MOLD IN THE SHOWER, ALONG WITH SOME KIND RUST RED STAIN. WE PAID FOR AN OCEAN VIEW BUT WAS MOVED TO A ROOM WITHOUT A VIEW . WE DID NOT GET ANY COMPENSATION. MANAGEMENT WAS NOT ON PROPERTY. THE STAFF WAS KIND . THE PROPERTY IS EXTERMLY OVER PRICED FOR WHAT WE PAID FOR. THERE IS RUN DOWN BUILDING THAT IS ATTACHED AND ACROSS FROM THE LOBBY THAT APPEARS TO BE A RUN DOWN RESTAURANT. THE CLOSENESS TO THE BEACH WAS GREAT. BUT THERE WAS NO SIDE WALK TO WALK DOWN AND BACK UP THE STEAP HILL DRIVEWAY TO GET OFFAND ON THE PROPERTY TO WALK TO AND FROM THE BEACH.

Spacious clean rooms and a beautiful view! Friendly staff. Good breakfast. We loved the pool and hot tub. It’s close to food and shops and the beach. Just be aware that if you are walking it’s quite an uphill hike to get back to the hotel from the beach.

Very nice place to stay with kids for 2 nights. Kitchenette made things easy, breakfast was free and decent. The pool and outdoor area was very comfortable. The room was a nice size. Staff was helpful. Close to many points of interest. We'll definitely stay again when we're in the area. Lots of value.

This is our go to hotel for summer vacations! Great stay for an excellent price. Breakfast is included, and includes a variety of items. The room is spacious with a great view from the balcony. Only negative was a lack of kitchen utensils which was easily solved for less than $5 at the local Walmart.

GOOD: Property clean, pool ok, parking very easy, great location, decent price. THE BAD: $15 surcharge when arriving? that practice was outlawed in CA and at Fed level. Not the friendliest staff. Had no response about junk fee. Porch nice but faced highway.

Hard to know where to begin everything from checking in to checking out went perfectly!
