Welk Resort has been my go to for almost 20 years. Never had issues. However this time, when I arrived they had me booked with a2 bedroom villa when I booked a 1 bedroom. That eventually got fixed. Also the TVs in living room and bedroom didn't work. When I called maintenance I did not get a call back.

You don't really have to leave the property!! We only stayed 3 days but we did a lot from painting to rock climbing to the escape room experience. Recommend shopping for easy meals and snacks before hand and easy to use grills available everywhere

3.5 - we only planned on staying for one night here as we were passing though but upon arrival they offered us a free night plus 2 tickets to Disney or Universal studios. I asked what the catch was. The concierge stated we just had to do a 90 min presentation of the property. I asked like a tour? They stated yes. The next day when we got to the presentation, we were tricked into listening to a presentation about buying timeshares. Yes, a tour was included but as a brand new couple it was very uncomfortable having personal questions asked to us, and having to share that with a stranger who was trying to pressure us into buying time shares. When we were at 100 minutes we asked how much longer and we were told “you’re required to stay for 90 minutes do you have somewhere to be?” …. It was well past 90 minutes and yes, we are on vacation? It lasted another 45 minutes.. on top of that, the “tickets” we got, you have to pay for. you can only do certain days and you have to request them to allow you to get the tickets even though they were offered as “free tickets”. The rooms are outdated but nice. There are no elevators so keep that in mind that these buildings are 3 story’s high. All the amenities they offer, you have to pay for. 98% of things here are a fee (daily resort fees, rock climbing, classes, etc). All that should be included for the price we pay. None the less, it was a decent hotel. We would go back without the pressure of the time shares!

DO NOT COME HERE

I had a disappointing experience at this hotel. The Wi-Fi is terrible everywhere — it barely works. Because this is a vacation club, many people come and use the pools just by showing they are owners. This makes the pools extremely crowded. The water even looks dirty and has a strange, sweaty color. It was also bad planning to start renovating one of the large pools right during the spring-to-summer season, when more guests are here. The staff at the golf pro store were very rude and arrogant. Also, the golf courses are not well maintained. I especially recommend avoiding the Par 3 Golf Course. It’s in poor condition and you have to share it with people playing “footgolf” — a game where they kick large balls into big holes. It really ruins the golf experience. I would not recommend staying here.

Very limited info about the property, too many steps to the units. We were sitting outside at the morning while a gardener came close to our unit and started to spray around using heavy chemicals without checking who's around. It was very disrespectful and harmful to our health.
