Getaway-mökki Golden Heart Cityssä

Tervetuloa Red Bear Den -kotiisi, joka on kotisi poissa kotoa! Sijainti on avain tässä ominaisuudessa. Olemme sijaitsee noin 23 mailin päässä Alaskan kultaisen sydämen keskustasta, joka tunnetaan myös nimellä Fairbanks ja 35 mailin päässä Chena Hot Springsistä. Red Bear Denillä on hirsimökki ja viihtyisät modernit mukavuudet. My family (my parents, my wife, and I – four adults) stayed at the Red Bear Den for three nights from September 16 to 18. This was our first time using Vrbo, and the experience was excellent. The Bear Den was clean, tidy, and beautifully decorated — it truly felt like home.The location is perfect, right between downtown Fairbanks and Chena Hot Springs. We also found it to be a much better value than the nearby igloos, which were far more expensive.On our very first night, we saw the northern lights for the first time in our lives! They lasted for about three hours, and it was an unforgettable experience. What made it even more special was that we could watch them right from the Bear Den’s backyard — no need to drive half an hour away to escape city lights. It felt private, comfortable, and magical.We also made a trip to Chena Hot Springs to enjoy the hot springs and visit the Aurora Ice Museum, which was only a 30-minute drive from the cabin. Back at the Bear Den, we had great fun playing the scavenger hunt.The host couple was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely choose the Bear Den again if we return to Fairbanks in the future.

The cabin was awesome!! It was secluded and quiet, but still close to coffee. We enjoyed relaxing and having direct tv accessible. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were great! We had the perfect place to park, right outside the door. The extra large back yard was the perfect place to watch the skies for the auroras.

5 nights here, exploring in every direction. This cabin is awesome! Everything we needed and then some! WellMaintained and Very clean! Very good communication with the hosts, let us arrive a little early, didn’t need anything while there, but they have a game you can play to win a prize counting bears… let me tell you it’s not easy, but we got it right! Would recommend this place to anyone looking in that area and we would definitely stay again!

Weather was not with us

The weather turned for the worse a few weeks prior to our stay. We hoped for the best and got snow several days but the Aurora showed us what we needed the last night there. So incredible we caught it. Great accommodations and the Pizza Bus did not disappoint. Pleasant Valley store had a nice mix of things you need as well. Thanks for the great stay Alaska!

Like home

It’s one of my favorite places to go. We have stayed at this property several times Russell and Monique are really good people and wonderful host house feels like home very relaxing. There’s just a piece in a tranquility you get staying at this property. to me, it’s the perfect place to stay far enough away from town to get the quiet yet close enough to do all of the fun things you would wanna do. There’s a lot of trails to hike around there. It’s perfect.

Greatest place ever

The house is beautiful and clean. Has everything you need. The location is perfect for peace and nature, and auroras 100%. There’s a grocery store very near. We loved it and 100% recommend it.

Great location for viewing the Aurora

Lovely rustic property in an area with no light pollution. We are from Florida and it was very cold when we were there, but even with the thermostat at the upper end of the instructed settings, we found the house to be drafty. There were instructions not to use the wood stove. We suspect that if the wood stove had been available we would have been toasty warm. Hosts were very responsive and gave us great information to alert us to the Aurora websites and how to interpret them. They were also responsive to issues with the microwave and television set. Really appreciated the large washer and dryer and the dishwasher. The driveway was plowed for us and there is a plug available for your car in the outdoor parking spot. The back porch was not shoveled for us and we really needed that and some space in the backyard to get good pictures of the Aurora. We called the hosts to ask about snow shovels and they do have two shovels - one near the garbage bins and one in the green tent - so we were able to shovel out an area to use. Lots of hot water. Full size refrigerator. Plenty of coffee pods for the Keurig and quite a few supplies provided. Would have liked a soup ladle and an electric can opener - manual can be a little tough for old hands., but overall adequate dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, and kitchenalia. Well located for visiting North Pole and Cheena Hot Springs.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Bear Den. The home is cozy and clean. Lots of little extras in the kitchen and showers. Host were great and responded quickly. Saw lights dance across the sky in the yard for one of our nights.

Very nice home

Very nice home. Our reason for visiting Fairbanks was to see the northern lights and WOW did we ever…right out our front door! Two nights of our stay we saw the lights and they were beautiful…no need to leave home. The host was very accommodating and helpful with information about northern lights viewing and very excited for us when I told her we saw them from the house.

What a great property! Beautiful setting with complete and perfect privacy set in the hills outside of Fairbanks. The house had old charm outside but was fully modern inside. All the conveniences you want and need with well stocked supplies and food. Seriously you do not have to bring anything with you. We stopped at a store when first going there and did not need to at all. Only thing that would have been nice is to have the use of a barbeque.Thank to Monique who was a great and accommodating host and showed us great consideration and flexibility. PS: We were able to see the Northern Lights right out back of the house.

Peaceful cabin

Off the beaten path and so peaceful. Big backyard perfect for seeing the northern lights which was a huge bucket item!!! Very spacious. Cute bear theme throughout the cabin. Great communication and easy to check in/out.
