We stay here every time we are traveling north from Florida. It’s a good stopping point for the night. This motel is older but very well maintained and the rates are great. The front desk and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean.

Everything was awesome until they charged my debit card an extra 150$ for having my cat!! I didn’t know it was a pet free hotel. I thought I was just avoiding a pet deposit! I know I broke the rules but my cat didn’t cause any damage or smell. Absolutely nothing to clean up!

I had never stayed in a Howard Johnson before because of the civil rights history, but my other hotel fell through last minute and this one had a great price and my friend who lives locally recommended it, so I booked and was so pleasantly surprised. The room inside was new, well-outfitted, and smelled very nice. I thought I was in a Hilton or Marriott. Only drawbacks are there are three buildings on the hotel campus and I was in an upstairs one--no elevator. It had the outdoor walkway like a motel, but the room inside was like a nice 3-star or higher room. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I was nervous to be staying alone but felt safe. Many other hotels nearby, extremely well lit, and everyone I passed was friendly. It was pretty quiet except for my last night when I could hear my neighbors, but nothing disruptive.

This is a highway exit hotel and I don’t usually expect a lot. However, the staff was very nice and expedient with our check in/check out process. As a traveling professional I have become very acclimated to what I will find in/from hotels. During this trip this was our first over night and the experience was a very good one. Rooms were clean and spacious. The only down side was that the walls were thin and we could hear everything in the room next door. But overall it was a good experience. I would stay again.
