We arrived early but were told a room number, but it was not available. Three (3) hours later when approaching the desk again, we heard the people in front of us be assigned to our room!!! I made the manager Andre know I am not happy! We were then given another room. ALSO, there was no hot water in the hotel, as they were working on it. When we returned AFTER dinner, without showers, there was then hot water. Also, very limited restaurant menu.

Where do I begin? The room has a little sign in it that said, "This property is 100% No Smoking", however they have designated smoking at each side of the pool deck. So no matter where you went to enjoy the sea air, you end up beatthing second smoke instead. One of the designated smoking sections was right next to the hot tub, which the hot tub was one of the reasons for picking this hotel. Instead of enjoying the hot tub again I was breathing second hand smoke. There were guests smoking pot on the balcony near our room and for some reason again that smell would come into our room. I said something to the manager, but nothing was done. When we first went to our room, it smelled musty and was very damp. Once the Air ran for a while it seemed to help. However on about the 5th or 6th day I noticed some black spots on the ceiling above my bed. The maintenance man came to the room and said it was black mold and they offered to move us on the last night. In addition the water at the hotel had a brown tint to it. They tried to tell me it was safe to bathe and drink, but myself and several other guests bought bottled water from their store. (You would think they would offer water for free, but nope.) I asked for a late Check-out on the last day and they offered it to me for free, due to the black mold in the room. (How can they charge me to stay in a room with black mold?) As the week went on, I started to feel ill. I slept in, but when I went to take a shower, there was no hot

My stay was generally fine, but my check-in experience with a rude staff member significantly impacted my overall impression of the hotel. As a solo traveler, first impressions matter, and unfortunately the front desk interaction felt very cold and unwelcoming. The front desk agent did not make eye contact, did not explain any hotel amenities or procedures, and responded dismissively when I asked a question, leaving another staff member to answer instead. This made me feel uncomfortable and unsettled upon arrival, especially traveling alone. In addition, there was confusion around an incidental charge placed on my room, which was later resolved at checkout by the floor manager. Usually incidental charges are showed up as pending but mine went through and had to be refunded later. While I understand everyone can have an off day, hospitality begins at the front desk, and this experience fell below expectations.

It definitely could have been cleaner in the room, specifically the floor which had the dirt imbedded (needs a steaming), the base boards were dusty and had other guests’ hair as well as the shower but the linens were all clean, lobby and outdoor areas were clean, gym was clean. The service was wonderful and all of the front desk staff were incredible. They all made my stay the best. Specifically Mary and Caroline. I will be back next time I stay just to be welcomed by them!
