We really enjoyed the whole vibe. The bar was a bit pricey, but has an amazing feel. It served us very well as a home base in our stay in Galena, and had us within short drives to all the places we wanted to visit. Potosi, Dubuque, Effegy Mounds and of course downtown Galena.

the inn was charming, the room clean and quite. Afternoon tea was a delight with an excellent choice of teas and fresh scones. The hot breakfast each morning was really nice - no "make yourself a waffle" here. The only problem I had was they ran out of coffee each morning, and we were redirected to the coffee nook off the main lobby. Unfortunately, the coffee was so hot I couldn't drink it. A minor problem in an otherwise excellent stay.

Charming but dated

The gym was u bearable-no AC or ventilation. Breakfast was good, but the ran out of fruit and bacon an hour before the buffet closed. There was no en-suite bathroom

The property is nicely renovated but the suite’s furniture is stiff and uncomfortable. Also the air vent is situated so it blew cold air directly at the bed. We really loved that they provide a great free hot breakfast… in the Irish pub that has music in the evening, offers a nice dinner menu and a great selection of beer.
