IMPORTANT HOUSE RULES TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS You are now in a typical Finnish home. We have made sure that what you find here is authentic – from the tiny shower to the strict sound curfew. All the same, it is very comfortable and very authentic. Because of the extreme cold, homes in Finland are compact and usually within a block of dozens of other tiny flats. The outside walls are thick, the windows double or triple glazed, and people live very close to each other. Hence it is important to respect everybody’s comfort & privacy. Absolute silence is required from 20:00 (8:00 pm) until 7:00 am. This means that you NOT turn on the washing machine and any loud voices pr noise can wait till the morning. Shoes are to be taken off just inside the front door in all Finnish homes – there may even be a small foyer in some flats dedicated to leaving your gear in till it’s time to go out again. Sometimes visitors take the disturbance issue as a bit of a joke, but to their dismay they may end up having to answer to the police – whom the neighbors have every right to call in if the noise rules are not respected. The Finnish police are very polite but in preference to having to deal with the law, if you follow the House Rules everyone will be much happier.those rules are diplayed in the kitchen area if you wanted to read. Please understand that you may be removed from the premises if the House Rules are not followed. Sounds pretty extreme, and yes it is rare, but possible. Cooking… Do make sure all electrical have been turned off before you go out – anything that can cause a fire is obviously a very serious issue when it involves an entire block of flats. PS. waste disposal unit in the garden areas, you will see this outside the building. Disposal your trash on your way out Please read all terms and condition on notice board and hallway,
