Our black out curtains were old and moldy and wouldn't close, paint peeling and pull out couch was broken. Hotel provided a very small, old, lumpy roll away bed instead. Would not allow switching the room. Buyer beware.

The view was fantastic, air con was cool in the living room but not the bedroom so I brought me a fan. It would have been better if had ceiling fan, Also the bathroom couldn’t shut so we had to use a towel so guests from other building couldn’t look in while dressing. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

Terrible Stay – Do Not Recommend Let’s start with the basics: the bed, sheets, and pillowcases were old, stained, and torn. The comforter and blankets were rough, full of holes, and clearly long past their usable life. We specifically booked a room with a pull-out couch, only to find a big sign that said “Do not pull out”—completely defeating the purpose. The carpet was filthy and clearly hadn’t been vacuumed; dirt and dust were visible all around. The room smelled unpleasant, and the pillows were disgusting—so stained that even the old pillowcases couldn’t hide it. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Always liked the Banyan for the large apartment style rooms with kitchen. Check in staff was good. Lots of parking this time, it used to get full. The facility is old, but decent condition.

We loved the whole experience, especially the view of the beach. Having the kitchen was a great opportunity to help keep meal expenses down and be prepared for the ahead. Would totally stay at the Aston again!! The only downfall was that the recreation area (pool, sauna, etc.) was being renovated during out stay but with the beach a block away it was that much of an issue.

Great location. Near restaurants and shops that you can walk to and the beach is just a few minutes away by foot. Hotel guest parking has a fee of $43/night. Property is outdated. Bed was not comfortable. Our room looked like it hasn't been updated since the 80s (but I think they are in the process of renovating).Walls and carpet were dirty/stained. The toilet kept running after you flush it and sometimes wouldn't flush at all so you had to take the lid off and pull the handle on the inside.There were chips on the furniture. But the suite had everything we needed (full kitchen and stocked with dishes, utensils appliances). We only stayed two nights and spent our days out of the hotel most the time, so it wasn't a big deal for us. If you care about aesthetics or want to be impressed and have high expectations of a high rise hotel in Waikiki, this is not where you should book. But if you are looking for a decent place to stay that has many conveniences and is in a nice location, and you are on a budget, this place is definitely what you want. It's what we could afford in the area and we didn't have expectations. The staff is friendly and the lobby is beautiful.

Great location but outdated room

Great location, walking distance to the beach. I really liked the layout of the room but the beds were not as comfortable and seemed a bit out dated. It was unfortunate that the pool was being renovated but parking was very easy and made it easy to unload our luggage from our car to the lobby. Although, the beds and room seemed outdated, I would stay here again because the staff was so wonderful and accommodating and parking and location was great!

Was during renovations so no pool. But the renovated rooms were nice and clean and the service was great from the front lobby staff. Very comfortable room Only issued I had was the couch seemed to be dirty from someone who had used too much tanning oil which left the couch stained
