Property and staff were great. You will need a car if you want to go anywhere on the island as the location is 40 mins north of Kona. There is a shuttle that will take you to some nearby shops and another hotel in the same area which was nice. Gold level is well worth it and the staff really took care of us the entire stay. Would definitely stay here again!!!!

My husband and I stayed here with friends and had a wonderful stay. We had a partial ocean view and they had an ocean view. Rooms were spacious and service was great. The grounds are pretty and we enjoyed the private beach with snorkeling available at your feet. I wish they would have had umbrellas available on the beach, but once the shade disappeared, we just moved over to the pool area and grabbed umbrella chairs. Perfect sunsets at night.

It’s a beautiful property with a nice pool and protected ocean cove for snorkeling. There’s not a lot close by but a great place to relax.

Very expensive place...Most of the things they list the resort fee pays for our hard to find and get. We kept asking about the pool fruit service it said we got and 99% of the staff gave us a baffled look. Finally on our last day someone walked around with 2 cantaloupe cubes on a stick after 1:00. Ordered hula hula chicken and got one tiny breast and nothing else for $37. The resort is beautiful and the snorkeling was great!

What a beautiful property ! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and spacious. We loved getting our own water bottles. The pools are great and the beach access is so much fun . I would love to stay at the Fairmont orchid again! PS you need to try the sticky buns at the cafe

We stayed on the gold floor and I cannot recommend it enough. The staff was exceptional up there. I did have an issue with a tour guide, trying to pick me up out front and the valets telling him he could not do that. Hopefully they’ll get that stuff worked out. Otherwise it was amazing.
