A missed opportunity for Hilton

Beautiful old Florida property in the lobby and grounds. But the rooms looked like they were last remodeled 20 years ago in early Garden Inn - in no way consistent with the history of the property. Much of the hotel, particularly the windows and elevators, was dirty. Room just never felt clean. And the bed was so-so with terrible pillows. VERY noisy at night with slamming doors and loud people at all hours (can't they put some rubber bumpers on those doors!) And everywhere you look touch-up painting is needed. Staff was pleasant but largely absent. One gets the impression there just weren't enough staff to take care of the place properly. Service in restaurant was okay - food was good. Bellman Ricky was a bright spot - Key West native with great knowledge and advice on what to see, where to eat, and how to get around (don't even try to drive - use LYFT for everything). If we could have slept at night, our stay here would have been okay (it is a beautiful place). But until Hilton makes some improvements, we won't stay here again.

We stayed in the suites sections. Beds were comfy and rooms were peaceful (despite a wedding going on). There was a Rosewood feel to the whole environment at the hotel. Loved the private beach and the kids dining options.

Housekeeping was spotty. Times were varied and a couple days we did not get service. When they did our room it was very good. Mike and Nicole were fabulous as bartenders. Wednesday night February 5th, we got our bill and the gal whose name I don't recall was fabulous. Overall a good experience.

Very poor services provided. Every call made to guest service department was poorly responded. Asked sleepers and extra blanket, no one send to room even after 30mins. Asked bell men for luggage, slow responses as well. Can’t believe it’s a $1000/night hotel. The breakfast was pretty simple and basic. Only the private beach is nice.
