Depot Inn is a Win

Wonderful location and ample historical examples of how amazing the US rail system was when we used it as our primary mode of travel! Staff was all amazingly helpful, kind, and considerate! Would stay over and over again!

I found a bug on the shower floor and the toliet seat was too thin. 1 of the beds was still quite hard to sleep on. I didnt get a very good of a sleep, but there were my guests and they enjoyed their bed because it was thicker than their old bed. I will probably be back down in the future so I can watch more trains that comes through where I work in a day that runs our rails in 5 days.

The rooms were so clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and the train memorabilia was very fun ro look at. You do hear trains going by but it is part of the experience. I am a clean freak and I didn't even bring out the disinfectant.

Try the Depot Inn

Great place to stay as it is also a railroad museum and very nice and well kept. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are spacious and with great furniture and the breakfast is also very good.

Hot Tub Sacrificed

Motel full of train memorabilia. If you like trains, this is a place for you to check out. Pool is not heated very well; but a 6 yr old will swim anywhere! Exercise equipment doesn't work, which was disappointing. But, they have a pool table, if you like to shoot pool. Breakfast foods, the usual fare & good; there was ample parking - however, if you take your fur baby; you cannot stay in a suite. I was so looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub after a 9 hour drive - only to find out that pets are not allowed in the suites when I checked in. The sacrifices we make for our fur babies!

Didn’t realize the amount of train traffic that would be going right by the hotel throughout the night. Charming hotel with great train decor but we were told by a train company employee we shared breakfast with that there are about 60 trains a day that go through LaPlata. My bad for not doing my research. Next time I would bring earplugs.

Stay Here; It's Cozy and Homey!

I had an amazing, quiet, comfortable and peaceful stay. No complaints at all. The staff was kind and always available, the doors were locked at a decent hour, I felt secure and safe! I would stay here again!
