The rooms were very clean, but the building itself needs some renovation. The bathroom ceiling was peeling and cracking in places. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, so it got muggy and humid very quickly meaning that the bathroom door had to stay open and the heat had to travel into the bedroom which made everyone else hot. The tub was not draining properly, and within seconds of a very quick shower, you were already ankle deep in pooled water. The elevators were littered with paper, wrappers, and other outside debris. For the amount of money one pays to stay at this property, I would have expected for those things to be more attended to.

My major disappointment was that I reserved and paid in advance for a king bed but when we got to our room it was 2 doubles. We made it work because we were very tired and didn’t want to go back down to the lobby and then move all our stuff.

They put what was supposed to be a one time $100 hold for incidentals on my card then mistakenly put another $100 hold and I only stayed one night. Then they charged my card $195 for the stay even though I booked through Expedia. It was the day of my father’s funeral and now I don’t have access to $395 dollars while visiting from out of town. They said it’ll take 5-10 business days to go back on my card. It was a nightmare scenario that I should not have had to go thru.

My wife and I enjoyed the Westin Lake Mary, while I was there teaching a Saturday workshop and we will be back. The property was clean, we had a nice room. If there is any negative feedback I have is that the front desk could be a little more friendly, and attentive coming from someone who spent over 20 yrs in the industry, and the restaurant hostess needs more training on the restaurants menu etc. but she was very friendly otherwise.

Round 1 not great time for round 2

Cleaniness 5 ⭐️ Noise level 4 ⭐️ kids running up and down hallways. Could hear noises thru the wall. Plumbling 3 ⭐️ shower temp kept going from freezing cold to scolding hot in matter of seconds so couldnt really enjoy shower. I think it was just a bad week . Even found hair in my food at the restaurant . I will give the hotel another try though bc the staff and cleaniness were outstanding
