That’s A First!

I stayed at this CitizenM hotel for the weekend (Friday-Sunday) and had a major issue with my reservation. The hotel accidentally checked us out a whole day early, which led to a frustrating and inconvenient experience. When we returned to the hotel on Saturday night around 11 PM, our room key didn’t work—not just for our room but for the hotel entrance as well (since a key is required for late-night access). After finally being let inside, the staff informed us that a guest had given our room number when checking out early, so they assumed we had left. Instead of verifying with us, they removed our access. They did allow us back into the room to get our belongings but refused to issue a new key, which meant we had no real access to the room we had paid for. The lack of accountability and solution from the hotel was extremely disappointing. While the hotel itself is modern and stylish, the mishandling of our reservation and the inconvenience it caused left a bad impression. If you’re considering staying here, be aware that mistakes like this could completely derail your trip. Would not stay here again based on this experience.

citizenM is a great little room for 1 or 2 people to stay. Small but very well designed--maintaining a comfortable feel. The public spaces are modern and cool. Downtown situated nicely by many things (Grand Central Market is GREAT for any meal). Perfectly safe during the day, but personally I would not venture out at night.

Don’t worry about late check in. CitizenM doesn’t stress you out or demand a specific time or random charge even with a third party booking party! It’s very diverse, definitely recommend for couples.the lights where fun to play with the room is minimalist kind of style and build very cozy and comfortable, Very modern feel! There rooms have black out blinds it was 10 am and I thought it was 5am of how dark it was 👌, I just definitely recommend this place! I also had a iced Matcha with oat milk and honey 10/10 down at the bar, that also serves alcohol.
