The hotel was ok, it looked clean but smelt fusty/musty. I slept in my sleeping bag as I didnt like the smell of the bedcovers. Location was ok, plenty of bus stops nearby. It had a bath, but no stopper was provided to fill the bath up. The housekeeping staff were very noisy, shouting to each other whilst working, and seemed to be outside my room all the time! A lot of old building noises, like buzzing, pipes banging etc.

The Hollywood Historic Hotel is very eclectic. It is like going back in time. It is an older looking hotel. The elevator is very cute because of being like a closet size but there is plenty of room for 2 people with luggage or just 3 oeople.The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are clean. The carpet is older but it is very soft. The bathroom is small but it is again ver functionable. The shower in the tub works perfect. The whole set up reminds me of the old houses from the 40's and 50's my grandparents lived in. The closet with a full ironing board in our room was quite large. The parking was a reasonable price compared to the other hotels. It is a little tight but we always had a place to park even when we came back late. There is a back patio area we didnt use.Some reviews complain about the noise but we were on the backside of the hotel and really didnt notice too much noise. We had a nice stay and for the price I received it was worth it. I would stay there again for the price but we did not realize it was the weekend of the oscars so everything else was too pricey.So if you want a comfortable bed, be part of old hollywood, and feel safe this is a great place to go. I miss some of the amenities some of the bigger chains have and that is why I might not stay there again but nothing against the Hollywood Historic Hotel. We did not eat at the restaurant there or the pastry place near there so I cannot comment on them.

Friendly staff!! Hotel has character which I love. It’s clean with a comfortable bed and there is a fabulous bar/restaurant connected to it. If I’m in that area again I will definitely stay again!!

Great hotel in Hollywood. As the name says, it has a "classic", historic look, but also feels modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar looked nice and the cafe on the corner was a good stop for a coffee and quick breakfast. Is a short walk from Paramount Studios which made it easy to do the tour without paying for parking. Would stay here again.
