We had the worst experience at this hotel. Pictures and reviews (rated 8+) suggested recent renovations, but the reality was very different. When we arrived early, there was only a tiny check-in window with no staff, so we left and returned after 3 pm. Check-in was fast through the app, but the room was awful, a strong, unpleasant smell hit us right away. Staff admitted all rooms smell the same. I had to buy an air freshener just to tolerate staying. The shower was unsafe with no non-slip mat, and I nearly fell twice. The toilet seat was loose, and the bed sheets were dirty, even the replacement set had stains. Overall, the room was smelly, unsafe, and unclean. Horrible experience that did not match the photos or rating.

Soft stay

Nicely remodeled, decent parking, but it's Long Beach so you can't ask for much space, and I had a big truck, but it worked out-clean linens and EXTREMELY soft water. Unlike the rest of LA.

2 days before arrival, the hotel messaged me that i needed to check in by 6PM or they would give my room to someone else. Expedia and Hylands messages said checkin was until 11pm. I had to move my flight to ensure i could check in! Upon arrival, I was told I couldnt pay for my room with Amex or discover- this is not mentioned on any booking page or website. The room had food still in the fridge from the past tenants. There was no body wash or shampoo in the shower. There is no dead bolt or security lock on the doors to the rooms.
