Tracy was the best part of our stay. She was very friendly and accommodating for storing our luggage, as there is no elevator, which was our biggest issue, because we are elderly and my husband uses a cane, so going up and down the stairs was somewhat difficult. She also allowed me to use her printer to print off our boarding passes for our cruise. As far as the room goes, I was somewhat disappointed. The floors had not been properly swept or mopped ( there were a few dead bugs and the bottom of my husband's socks got dirty after walking around the room a few times). The mattress was horribly too soft, which caused significant back pain after sleeping on it two days. The bathroom and kitchen areas appeared to be clean. Overall, it was mainly the floors that seemed to have gotten overlooked while cleaning. The few bugs appeared to be small dead roaches, which obviously proves that poison had been set out to keep them at bay, which is typical (especially in hot climates). Overall, the room was doable for a short stay, and is in a convenient location. Very close to Vons grocery store, a short walk to the beach, and various nail/ hair salons, etc .... The hotel also keeps the entrance locked, which is good for safety. However, they are not 24/7. They are open from 10 am until? Honestly, I won't stay there again, because no elevator, but other than that it's an ok place to stay.

This hotel is almost inhabitable. Smells like urine, no elevator, unsafe feeling outside and inside the hotel, cleaning lady was mopping when i checked in, old furniture, and if you can get past the smell maybe you can sleep on the bed. coworkers room had a window in the shower that looks into a wood room. super creepy. left immediately and found another hotel i want my money back

Beware: no elevator!

There is no elevator and we did not realize. We were up all night because of people talking loud, car alarms going off, police up and down the street with sirens almost every If you are not fit, this is not the hotel for you. If your luggage is 50 lbs, don’t book.

The room was very spacious and clean when we arrived. It seemed like it would be a good place to stay for multiple nights since the kitchenette had a fridge, microwave, and dining utensils. The keypad entry is also very convenient. There is no on-site parking; just street parking or a lot a block down. The parking situation wasn’t ideal for us since we drove, but this is a good place to stay if you’re taking public transport or walking to your destinations.

Unique experience

The hotel was unique, but nice, rooms were large with a kitchenette. Bed was a bit hard for my comfort but otherwise nice comfortable room. Very little staff on hand, check in qnd out all done remotely. Questions quickly answered by phone or text. What staff we did meet were very pleasant and helpful. Certainly an good value for the roomrate.

It is an historic building but they have done a decent job with renovations. There is a smell that lingers a bit. If you have allergies to indoor pollutants you may be affected as you might expect with an older complex. The location is very convenient for the cruise terminals, day trips to Catalina Island or to see the Queen Mary. I cannot rate the staff. We have not seen anyone since we arrived. So if you need or like to have onsite staffing that may not be what you experience here. You are given codes to enter the building and your room. There is a grocery (with a Starbucks in it), small convenience Mart near by and several nice places to eat. I highly recommend ‘The Breakfast Bar’ to start your morning! Great food and friendly staff just a short walk away. All in all it was a decent place for the price and a few nights stay before our cruise.

Overall not a bad place to visit, you can walk anywhere from this hotel. Staff was on site when we where there and were friendly. It was clean if you like the vibe of an old rustic building with newer interior take a visit here. Only bad thing about the room is that the windows are original single pain glass so you will here some street noise. would be nice to been able to open a window aswell. 8 out of 10
