I recently stayed at this resort to celebrate my birthday, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! The location is absolutely perfect shopping, dining, and nightlife are all right outside the hotel, with even more fun spots just five minutes away by cab. Whether you’re into exploring the area or just want everything within walking distance, this place delivers. The hotel itself was clean, family-friendly, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. A special shoutout to Carlos, the bartender he was amazing and really helped make my birthday weekend extra special with great drinks and even better hospitality! The only downside was the mattress it was a bit too firm for our liking and left both my husband and me with some back pain. However, I really appreciated how the hotel handled it. They were quick to bring us a mattress topper, which helped a lot and showed that they genuinely care about guest comfort. All in all, I would absolutely stay at this resort again. The service, location, and atmosphere made for a memorable trip!

Was the worst experience I had for my birthday trip, it was sad. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone, it was a waste of money . The service was terrible, I stayed for 3 nights, 2 rooms and both rooms were extremely hot , I called the receptionist several times and nobody came to our room to fix the problem. Also the personal are so rude, total disaster!!!! DO NOT GO

I visited Sonesta 6/1=6/5 and it was nice. Thats it just nice, ther was nothing spectacular about this Resort. I was disappointed there wasnt much to do besides the pool and the beach. The Breakfast was spectacular but Lunch and Dinner was okay not a lot of options for an All=Inclusive The bar they speak of is a small space in the corner of the Resort. Also you have to go outside and walk to the few eateries they have. I know its a family Resort but was very disappointed no Adult Nightlife . The rooms are nice and spacious and very clean . The night Entertainment leaves a lot to be desired. The one pool they have is nice with a swim up bar. For the price they charge i was kinda disappointed.

I stayed at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort with 19 guests to celebrate my 40th birthday, but the experience was disappointing. Two guests had their reservations canceled by a third-party agency (thankfully resolved by the resort), and other rooms weren’t ready on time—with missing toiletries and unhelpful housekeeping. Dinner at Cantina was chaotic with long waits and missing menu items. Service at The Village Tavern and The Palms Grill was also poor, and wait times at the burger hut were excessive. Worse, two guests had $160 in cash go missing, believed stolen by housekeeping, and the issue remains unresolved. We also dealt with yellow toilet water, musty smells, and limited entertainment—no poolside games or nightlife typical of all-inclusive resorts. There were a few bright spots, like helpful front desk staff recovering lost headphones, but overall, the stay didn’t meet expectations. Many other guests shared similar complaints, including reports of theft. I expected more from this resort.
