We were looking for a reasonable place to stay in Mackinac and found the Pine Cottage. It’s just off the Main Street, close to everything. The bed n breakfast was immaculate, and the owners are incredibly nice. We would definitely go back and stay.
Clean, quiet, convenient B&B close to all the Mackinac Island things to do. Owners were very friendly. Great breakfast. Lovely porch. Loved the experience.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Shared bathroom means you don’t have your own bathroom and have to exit your room and wait your turn. Twice I found that another guest hadn’t flushed the toilet behind themselves. The room itself was clean and well appointed. In the “about” section it states “More conveniences in all rooms include: Showers and free toiletries” which is not true… not all rooms have a shower because they don’t have a bathroom or even a wash basin. The breakfast was clearly Costco products reheated, down to they didn’t even take the quiche out of the disposable tin. The property was clean and maintained in the common areas.
Excellent Quaint hotel!! It was Spotless and the Inn Keepers Caroline and Rose were so gracious and welcoming!!
It’s shared bathrooms on one flooor, but really not a problem at all!
It is part of Island House Hotel, but this hotel offers a Breakfast and overall better in my opinion!
On a long weekend trip to Michigan with family, we wanted to spend a night on Mackinac Island. At the time of my booking there weren't too many reasonably priced places. Pine Cottage turned out to be a nice place. The biggest plus was the porter service to bring out bags from the boat and back especially since the place is closer to half a mile from the terminal.
The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and the room was comfortable.
Mackinac is very walkable so the location wasn't a problem.
Quiet peaceful home the hosts are fantastic friendly knowledgeable and had no problem with special requests we had. We were on the third floor with a spacious room and view of the water. We loved the porch with several rocking chairs to relax. Afternoon tea and cookies was something we looked forward to everyday. Fresh water always available to drink. The breakfast was good, choice of a hot dish fresh muffins bagels and toast. Yougurt and hot and cold cereal and juice. Highly recommend it but to people with difficulty walking there is no elevator and the home is on a section of a hill.

Liked: Cleanliness
Great location, clean and well maintained, wonderful breakfast for any taste and any food allergies. Wonderful staff, comfortable beds and nice rooms, great bathrooms
This was a cute b&b. We liked that the room had a dedicated cooking unit that kept it very cooked down and dry. We also liked the front porch and the cute dog that's around sometimes. The front desk staff were amazingly nice and the island itself has a good flow for baggage and ferries. We did find the bed uncomfortable and pretty loud. We also like to sleep in but it's not exactly possible at this place because the cleaning staff are incredibly loud...both with knocking things around, talking to one another, and voices over walky-talkies. There was some unfinished drywall in our room, not a big deal but also not great.
